On thursday (7th Dec), I received an e mail from the Immigration department that my ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) had been cancelled which was due to expire in May 2020. I am a citizen of visa exempt country and had obtained the ETA when I visited my brother in Canada in Dec 2015. I tried to do some research and found out that once you get the PR, they cancel your ETA, however, in my case, I am still waiting (eagerly) for my PPR. Anyone experienced or know about something like this.
Maybe that is what “once confirmed” message was about

He had that in his notes
You know? I am planning to sit the pharmacy examination board exam in Ottawa next May, I do not want any surprises, like for example getting my TRV cancelled few days before the exam. I hope that wint happen!

Hi,
I need help understanding whats going on with our application. We are AOR March 2nd 2017 and in our GCMS NOTES the last update on the file was on 24th August.
I sent a case specific inquiry asking about this situation plus in our application it says “ we need more documents “ since 5th October but no documents requested.
I received the following reply:

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The situation that you have described is the result of an ongoing technical problem. We are currently looking into it and will resolve it as soon as possible.

We verified the information on file and are pleased to confirm that everything appears to be in order with your application.

While the processing times may vary with each case, we will make all the necessary efforts to finalize the application as soon as possible.

Rest assured that we will communicate with you once a decision is taken.

Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

Anybody know if this is just an auto reply fron CIC or is it good news?
Any help appreciated as we are in the 9 months point now
It is not auto reply, I feel IRCC system itself is crappy. so they may miss you case or not assign it to other official due to system issue. I treat it as good news that somebody may look into it now.

I received GCMs today and let me tell you, it is as useless as emailing. It is basically the same as other people from my country, basically stuck in IP2 since an eternity ago, security screening activities not started... no details or anything, totally useless.

It only took them 20 days to get them to me.

They deliberately stopped responding with any meaningful answers long ago, maybe out of disrespect or spite or both.

Try to email the minister.
What was the wording in their email reply when you asked?

When I email they just send me a copy paste that my application is being processed within their regulatory timelines bla bla even though it has been 8 months. But seeing these notes I think I understand that better. When the file was with them at the beginning I could see that they set time limits for when to finish medical assessment and when to finish education assessment etc... So they control the timeline pretty well. But once they decide to send you to the security screening blackhole, they no longer have control over the activity timeline, and it seems security agencies do not have the same clean pattern of working...
