Hi everyone.

My CRS score was 464 and I just got ITA in Dec 6 draw. I have a lot of doubts on how to proceed with my work experience representation. Here are the details:

  • Got and started when I was in the final year of my Masters (3-4 months were still pending). But my college allowed as it was a job in my field (not IT).
  • Now here, there was a new type of role which came up in this pharma company (let's call them A). I was interviewed and selected, but I was kept on payroll of a third party company (let's call them B), where my designation was just "Associate- Staffing" indicating that I was part of their staffing team which was working client side (in A's office). Want to mention that I did have a designation at client side as well which actually matches with my job profile and work.
  • Now the designation "Associate- Staffing" doesn't tell anything about my actually work which was creating scientific deliverables (slide decks etc). I did not get a JD from either company and I never asked for it as I was a fresher and didn't know it's importance.
  • In my pre-ITA application, I have entered details as "Associate- Staffing" and date of joining as when I joined this 3rd party company as they were actually my payroll.
  • Question 1: The problem is how do I provide the experience proof? Whom should I ask? If I go to A (client), they will say we can't give you JD/ experience letter as we didn't hire you in technical terms. Company B (3rd party) will say we just hired you as "Associate-Staffing" and you were just needed to do what the client (A) asks.
  • Question 2: I entered by NOC (5121) based on the work I did at A and my designation at A. I don't even know what my NOC would be based on my job title in my payroll company. Do I need to change my NOC? Can I even change my NOC after ITA?
  • Question 3: Will a LOE be sufficient in my situation? If yes, how should I try to explain things? I do not have JD from either companies. I just have the offer letter and relieving letter from B which says my designation as Associate-Staffing.

first of all, please make your post title clear and explanatory
what other proof do you have besides what they're "offering" you? you can send your LOE but it won't be enough on its own.
Designation alone doesn't matter. it's your task list that is important so you have to find the NOC that reflects that. For example, your designation is office manager but if all you do is answer the phone and keep the office supplies checked you won't have the same NOC as someone else with the office manager designation but who handles the company's HR. So find out the NOC of your job description first, make sure it's valid per NOC 0 A or B. Make sure you have the one year continuous experience in it then try and see what proof you can supply such as payslips, tax, colleagues who would agree to a notarized statement etc...

Thank you! Thread title is a mistake. I entered a proper title but I think I mis-pressed a button and it got changed to "+". Didn't notice it till after submission. My apologies.

Now to your explanation. My NOC is correct as per my assessment. I mean by the work I do, my NOC is what it should be. Only thing is I don't have a proof as there was no JD.

You mention " payslips, tax, colleagues who would agree to a notarized statement etc..." Payslips are from 3rd party company as they handled the payrolls. Regarding a colleague who would agree to a notarized statement, this colleague can be from either of the two company? I can try for someone at the client company but none from the payroll company.

EDIT: I did try to edit the thread title earlier. But I think it is not allowed.

it's okay for the title, it's just so people don't ignore your post. yes the point of the colleague is to prove you did that type of work. not that you have to make sure of the requirements of the skilled worker and if you match them (particularly work duration, you say you worked for two companies at the same time (worked for B under A) but who would your employer be considered? the other company seems to be a client that you were assigned to. better wait for other members to input as well.

Actually I worked for A (client) under B (3rd party payroll). My employee technically would be B as they did my payroll. One thing I just saw is that in the offer letter I got from B, they do mention my starting designation and the client company name, if that's any consolation.

so you could use that as your proof, but you have to find more. put yourself in the agent's shoes. If you go to the work experience reference letter, look at all the needed information. that's what you have to prove along with an explanation as to why you couldn't get it from the company (an email maybe about you asking for it and how they declined)

Absolutely agreed. That's the reason I made the thread for. Coz I put myself in agent's situation and realised it won't be convincing enough. Haven't had any issues in interviews for jobs coz there you get a chance to showcase your knowledge gained. But here it's all paper, no interaction. So need more evidence.

So I have 2 things so far: Offer letter (mentions both my designations and both company names) and most probably I can get someone from the client side to say that I worked in the said designation for that period. EDIT: I also have payslips (though they don't obviously talk about the job that I did) and also have one certificate form client side which I was awarded for a project. My resignation letter is also from client side email address. That's all I can recall.

Will that be enough?
