Thank you, Manzana!

Regarding the address, they never asked us for one; what they did ask us was the which city we intend to live. We said Calgary, and that is all.

And about the passports and COPR, we'll just cross fingers!

Thank you again! :)
My husbands passport took just over 2 weeks to come back so you should be ok!

Thank you both!!

And they asked you about the complete address in which you intend to live in Canada?
Yes on a separate paper my husband wrote his name, his country and the address in canada where he will live.
A copy of the letter requesting passport and his passport.

He sent it through his local Visa application center (vac)

Hi guys!

My husband had to do the same - He provided his full name, country of residence and complete address where he will live once in Canada.

Hey guys! Please help me! When you sent the birth certificate, did you send a copy or the “original”? I got my certificate at the registro civil so it’s already a certified copy. Do I have to photocopy it and certify it or Can I send it as is? Did you certify the photocopy of the IFE too?
Sigh, I’m sorry. As I’m reading my post it sounds so silly but we’re sending the application this week and everything is stressing me out.

Also, do you guys recommend applying inland or Outland with the recent changes?
When we sent ours, we sent the original birth certificate and marriage certificate. So it didn't need to be certified that it was a true copy by the lawyer. However, we did have to get it "stamped" by the government office in his country to get it "legalized". It is very confusing and some people said we didn't need to do that but we did not want to take the change in it being sent back or delayed so we just did everything.

We applied Outland so I don't know much about inland. And with the changes in the process I believe I have read inland slowed a little bit. But that is just from reading here and not based on facts or anything.

We used UPS from Canada. In the envelope that you sent your passport in, you were supposed to include a prepaid envelope for them to return your passport with. The return envelope is prepaid and already has the address label on it.

You now need to buy a prepaid envelope that you would have put in another which you need to pay for as well and send it through DHL to the MVO. Do not forget to add a separate sheet with your full name, UCI & Application numbers and the complete address where u intend to live once you arrive in Canada as well as your birthdate in order for them to verify it is you (or your husband) that is sending this package. Do it right away as they are in a hurry to send your passport back. I wish you the best!

P.S.: Do not forget to ask the DHL person to pls scan the airway bill for the prepaid envelope which you then will send via email to MVO. Tell them to send the scan to your personal email and from there you forward it to MVO.

Thats the thing DHL in Guatemala told us they email the airway bill to us my husband signs it and sends it back to them, then they email the scanned copy to immigration and send a DHL worker with a copy of the prepaid airway bill to the embassy in mxico to pick up the passport and then once it arrives in Guatemala they call him he goes to the office and then they charge him for the return . Im so confused i called immigration and no one anwers to see if this is the actual procedure

This sounds very confusing... but I lived in Guatemala for a few years and they typically like to make any process overly complicated :p

I’m sorry this is happening to you. I don’t really have a solution though. The prepaid envelope should have been included in your original envelope, that’s all I know.

Maybe I did mine wrong then. I think what throws people off is the term 'electronic' on the specs they provide. I take it as they mean scan the airway bill and send it electronically to them which, again to me, serves as a mere way of comparing that info to the actual envelope sent along with your passport and any other pertinent docs requested. Idk.. I just hope and pray I did this correctly.

Don’t worry, I didn’t scan anything and we got our passport back just fine.
