Just send an enquiry and you are very likely to get your PPR. I did that just yesterday and today I got it!! Just a small email stating my going 'on desperate mode' wanting to have my family together for Christmas and a few more things to get my point and need across and it worked!

Didn't it feel just awesome!?! We were given a 15 day deadline! We asume it is because they want to reply just before the crazyness of the Christmas holidays! As of tomorrow, which is when my husband will send his passport, I will give them one week for his COPR to arrive. I just want him here for Christmas!!!

I know there are probably alot of Venezuelans now finding it hard to get their passport cause the government just not giving it out. Is anyone having trouble recieving criminal record? My wife is Venezuelan and all we're missing now is the criminal record. We got it approved two months ago but the government doesn't want to give it out. Their excuse is short supplies. I don't want to submit my full application and it gets rejected cause we missing the criminal record check. Do you guys have any advices or another way to get the criminal record? Is there anyway the embassy in mexico can take a digital copy from email? It just so unfair if our application get rejected cause the government refuse to let people leave the country by delaying or not giving out these documents.

My husband got it all done today but the package will sit at the DHL outlet until Monday morning when they dispatch it - It should arrive at the VO by Wednesday. The person that helped him did the scan of the airway bill and sent it via email to the VO on the spot. So, I am just hoping he gets the passport back a week at most after they receive it!

We are going to send the passports tomorrow... (we live in Mexico City). I just have 2 questions:

- Did the CIC PPR letter ask you the complete address in which you intend to live in Canada? If so, what should us respond? (Obviously, we don’t have any address yet!)

- How many days (aporx) take the VO to return the passports? We have a trip booked for December 21st, and I don’t know if we have to cancel everything...

First of all congratulations!! In terms of the address where you intend to live once in Canada I believe you must provide one. When you first submitted your application you must have provided an address, use that same one for this.

I wish I knew how many days for them to return the passport and COPR. I'll give them a week. If the tracking number with our courrier (DHL) does not activate Monday the 11th, I will ask for an update. Cheers!

Regarding the address, they never asked us for one; what they did ask us was the which city we intend to live. We said Calgary, and that is all.

And about the passports and COPR, we'll just cross fingers!

No problem. You may want to use a friend's or a relative's address in Calgary and I believe you should be fine.

Mexico is taking in average about 2 weeks to return passports so you should be fine but I would email the VO anyways and tell them about your situation. Besides you are right in Mexico, yours should be 1-2 days faster.
