Mine was briefly in registry when it arrived to Ottawa from Sydney. But I don't know what it means for sure, it could be the station where they receive the file before it is assigned to an officer and placed in inventory or pending.
Due date... I dunno. Often it is about a year from acknowledgement of receipt. Perhaps some kinda internal reminder, in case they didn't open the file before that.

I am planning to travel to quebec and landing in montreal in the next month as QSW .
My french level is very weak due to slow process of our immigration files ( almost 5 years ).
what is the risk to not give me the PR and not allow me entering canada by the immigration officers because of my weak french language ?
What could i do in this case ?

Am a nurse by profession.I doubt it's not so easy to become RN ,eventhough we reach there as PR.I know many in the forum are well versed in all the details... Hope you guys give details..also is That easy to grab some survival jobs? what about the scope for physiotherapist s? Both in Quebec.. thanks in advance

Hey guys. I have a question: how many months of validity should your passport have for them to put the permanent residence visa on it? My current passport expires in May and I applied for my new one yesterday and will be ready in 2 to 3 months (so end of January or February). Will they refuse to put the visa on my current passport if I get PPR soon?
I’ve done some research on this.
They will ask for 6months validity, but won’t refuse if your passport validity is less.
Only thing, your pr visa validity will be the same as your passport validity.
French proficiency is not a requirement at POE. FYI, Most CBSA agents at POE are bilingual. I plan to "soft land" in Dec with zero knowledge of French. If someone asks then tell him/her that MIDI has great French training program for new settlers and you plan to use that program to learn French after landing.

If not, that is okay, I will also do some research Usually if you are not from visa exempt country and your passport is expiring within 6 months CIC ask for new passport ...also you will need to notify CIC once you get new PP....Thank you for your reply MTL2MTL
