Hi all,

Help required,

I have got my reference letter from current employer, however I have worked for 7 years and been promoted twice during this tenure last promotion was October 2013.
however my reference letter (on company letterhead given by manager) only mentions current roles and responsibilities as a manager do I require reference letter from all positions or current roles and responsibilities can work, I can provide all promotion letter and pay stubs as I have all the documents available online. each and every change is documented so not too worried on that.

They have said that letter with all details of all years is not possible only current will be provided.

Any help would be really grateful

Unfortunately, it's very unlikely to have a draw today. Look at the following table, only once in 2017 there was a FSW draw on Friday and that time it was after a 3-week gap. Let's hope for Wednesday.

I felt so down yesterday, but this article came in my mailbox and brightened up my day. Keep faith alive!
I think the reason why CIC is issuing lesser ITA in these last 2 months of the year is because they don't want way too many applications and documents piling up during their long holiday next month. Say CIC is taking good care of their employees and also avoiding long waiting time for all the PR applications, then it's better to wait for bigger draws starting after the festive holiday.
Just my logic to keep myself calm. Hope you all will find the article helpful :)
Agreed! After the festive holidays, people's hope will be recharged!

You only need to mention previous roles and responsibilities if you were working in totally different sector NOC. In your case you just need to add designation and dates of all the previous positions held in your letter, no need to list responsibilities separately. Roles and Responsibility of your primary NOC is sufficient for you. ask your manager just to add name and dates of your previous designation. if he does not want to mention those then you can write them in your LOE and add appointment letter and promotion letter. This should be more than enough as you already have 3 years of experience in the current position which is maximum you can claim for CRS points.

Have a look at the requirements-
a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
  • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
  • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits;

Hope it helps.

edit: I think previously I have given you suggestion to put the responsibilities separately when you told us a different job scenario. now my suggestion is purely based on your current job scenario query.

exactly, i dont know why people are always hellbent on 'rules'. following rules desnt necessarily mean you'll achieve your goals. sometimes they put make your situation worse.
i think cic should regularly account for negative impact their rules can have on some honest and hardworking applicants and try to make rules flexible so no one is hurt unnecessarily.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. From what I understand of the process, it is wide enough to encompass eventualities. Can you help me understand how someone is hurt unnecessarily?

Please
Please check your EE profile. The stream might have already been allotted to you. You can log in to your gc key and know if you are in CEC or FSW. Most probably I think you will be in CEC coz as soon as you enter the Canadian experience you will be allotted to CEC. Your ITA will be according to your EE profile.
What is GC key?
