Good news, guys!!

I was the one whose application was delivered on Oct 13, and I just received AOR today at 7pm. I believe all of you will get AOR very very soon.
I didn't reapply, because like the CIC call centre agent said in phone, it code be possible if one application was missing or lost, but it's absolutely impossible if so many cases were missing or lost together. Reapply will cause trouble and confusion.... So just be patient, and live as normal.

Good luck to everyone!

I am happy for you. And thanks for sharing the good news with us, I hope we all get AORs till the end of this week.

I am aware of your concern. The agent at call centre said 100% sure that application has been returned. Believe it or not, I, at least, got the justification to re-apply. Holding the first one till withdrawing the second one is ridiculous. Only the opposite can happen and it happens only when you have AOR for the first one. My guess is IRCC itself lost my application. It's very likely to happen due to huge amounts of applications and their reputation of irresponsibility and careless.
Hi @naturalca,

I am also thinking of reapplying (October 16th applicant). I know that you re-applied recently. Can I ask you some questions?
- Did you refill the physical presence form? And did the eligible period change? And you used the new eligible period in the application form?
- q12, I checked yes to required to file tax, and yes to filed tax. How do i know if i am required to file. I work full time and file tax each year.
- Did you add an explanation letter why you sent the second application?

Thank you.

For q12, if you filed taxes, just check "yes" to "Required to file".

For more information on who is required to file taxes in Canada, please read the following:

My application was received on Oct 12 and I supposed to get AOR before everyone else. Now I am at the end of the line and the people from two weeks later get their AOR. I know I will get it sooner or later but I am frustrated about this. I lost my job once because I wasn’t Canadian and I didn’t have a job for a full year and now I am losing my job again by the end of the year because I am not Canadian.

That sucks. I too rushed in my application in hopes of getting processed early, well that didn't happen.

If you can share, what sort of job do you have that requires citizenship ? Just curious.

I am an Engineer and %80 of jobs required travel to US which my current passport I cannot travel then there are these Federal Government job in Ottawa which so far I have been rejected 2 times. both times I was on the final list and I was rejected just because of my citizenship.
My current employer is letting me go because they found a new customer in US and they need someone who can travel.

Thanks for sharing. Hope you get your citizenship soon! I think you should've applied for urgent prcoessing (not that that's going any faster for most).

I too, am in the engineering profession. Luckily, not required to travel much.

I actually think thay Ryan Laurendeau got a call from his buddy that they needed more wood for their campfire that night. And because Ryan was short on time, he just took your applications and burned them that night while having a tall can with his friends.

On a more serious note: As previous posters said: Chill. Chill. Chill.

How on earth can you expect that the AOR times from before C-6 (3-4 weeks) are still valid for the application rush where the number of applications increased by several hundred percent? Of course it will take longer. Just because some people already received AOR that doesn't mean that your application won't receive it at some point. There are still AORs coming in every day for all days of October. So clearly they are still working on it.

You all seem to feel entitled to day-by-day treatment for AORs. No matter if that expectation is justified or not, it is unrealistic. Never in the history of the citizenship spreadsheet were AORs issued exactly on a day-by-day basis. Never. IRCC will not start it now.

Also, this forum seems to be really obsessed with AOR in an unhealthy way. There are applications in the past which received AOR very early but then took forever to make it to the oath. There are applications in the past which took a long time to receive AOR but then made to the oath very quickly. So why are you so focussed on the AOR date? It makes no sense.

Sometimes this forum is like a brood of chickens where one of them makes a noise and then everyone freaks out and runs around.
And then these stories start where people try to see patterns. I'm waiting for someone to claim that applications of people whose country starts with a consonant seem to be ignored by IRCC.

Long story short:
- Never has IRCC issued AORs exactly in the order of day-by-day submission. Never.
- Due to the initial application rush, of course many AORs will take longer.
- Just because someone else's application received AOR, that doesn't mean that you should have received it, too.
- Stop obsessing over the AOR date.
- Stop trying to see patterns in everything.

Also, as I say all the time: I am not defending the practices or IRCC, their processing times or the communication policy. But there is no point in freaking out over something that you have no control over.

What surprises me the most is that each of you must have gone through the PR application process earlier. I don't know about you but my PR process was just like this: No updates forever and still in the end things moved and worked out. Did I hate it? Yes. Do I understand if you hate it? Yes. Can we change it? No. But have you all forgotten how IRCC was back when you applied for PR? It was the exact same story.
With all due respect (probably the worst start of a sentence?), people are anxious about receiving AOR because they are unsure if their applications are actually RECEIVED by the Processing Centre. When people who mailed out their applications later received their AORs before those who mailed out even earlier, they begin to question the system and the "safety" of their applications - it sure makes sense, in my opinion.

I am one of those whose app was delivered on Oct.16 and yet to receive the AOR. Am I anxious? Yes of course. Am I entitled to complain about it on an internet forum? OF COURSE! Do I actually freak out and cry about it like a 5 year old who dropped his ice cream? No.

Selfishly, I am here to make sure that I am not the only Oct.16 applicant yet to receive AOR, so I KNOW it is not abnormal. I did share my concerns and I welcome people's postings of their timeline (and sucky-ness) despite I have no patience for whiny people BECAUSE it is exactly the place to share and to post these type of stuff.

I agree and respect what you have contributed to this forum, although I never rely on any info I read on forum-type of websites. Yes people need to stop b*tching about the lateness of their applications, yes it is annoying, yes, a lot of the things people posed on the forum is plainly stupid (sorry folks). Again I want to reiterate that I agree with your "long story short" advice but you need to recognize that forums like this is exactly the place where people complain and b***c about s**t.

Lastly, just a general statement, people have different reasons to be worried and anxious whether you (the general people you, not a specific you) think it is valid or not. It is none of your business.

I just redo everything except the payment as if I never submitted the first one. I provided a letter explaining why I reapply. As for the tax return, I checked yes for both as I filed each year.
