Okay, hold on for a second. Let's recap cause it's getting out of control.
I said that in order to know what actually is happening I went through my MP, CIC told him they might have lost the file and they need to look for it. There is a procedure for that, when someone didn't get their AOR after 8 weeks. Which is two months people, not 4-5 weeks. So if you sent your fil on october 20 and didn't get AOR yet. Relax.
For the other ones, who are panicking about not receiving their AOR, I am reading in this forum send new applications, send them one inquiry per day etc. Those are not good solutions, they're just gonna generate way more work for CIC. What I am saying is if you are panicking about your file and it's been more than 2 months that you sent it, then get in touch with IRCC, there is a procedure for that and there's not need to spam them or go full hysterical.
so you are a 4/6 applicant who applied in September?

Nop, my request was received on the 12th so 7 weeks in so far. When it'll be 8 weeks, I'll call them and use the procedure IRCC has put in place and have them check on my file rather than keep spamming them or send a new one.

One thing you could do is to file a Privacy GCMS request and ask for copy of physical documents(It is free) . CIC then needs to find your application, scan them and send you a copy. This will force them to do it and they only have 30 days so they usually very fast prepaying(within 2-3 days) this but they usually send them in 30 day. The agents who prepare this are different than normal officers so if they really can't find it then they have write a formal report then send it to you. At the same time they have to file an internal report as well to report this. This is because every time your file moves an officers sign on it so it is clear who was the last one. This might cause some delays to your application as your file being handed over to another department. but it has an advantage they is being found or they

God forbid if they really lost your application which I do not think is the case and you get a formal report that they did considering you rep is NDP CIC would be in very bad situation. The application forms are considered Protected B document meaning which applies to information or assets that, if compromised, could cause serious injury to an individual, organization or government. This is very bad for them and have consequences.
Thanks, I also believe that CIC does not take losing files lightly because application contain private and sensitive information about the application and must not get into the wrong place.

The only reason you think they lose applications is because you keep checking this forum lol

We have literally no idea what percentage of applications they lose. It could be almost zero for all we know. I'm not saying CIC is good at what they do, but accusing them of losing files is more paranoia than reality.

I am not the one that say they lose files, please take your time and read comment before replying.

I spoke with CIC agent today, regarding application received on Oct 13/17 but no AOR. She said the only thing she can confirm at this moment is that my file has not returned. And the officer has not yet started to work on my application. Since its over a month and half that I still have not yet received my AOR, she recommended to send a letter (no re-sending of application) to same address that we sent our application, and in the letter write that you want to know the status - since it has been over a month and a half.
Again I will still wait patiently for 2 weeks, if not I will only then send a mail with letter only.
Not suggesting everyone to do the same. Just sharing what I was been told by agent.

We do have some idea. Go to the global spreadsheet at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16cfQUVB3j56QktacolbsAxpNlOrvk2uFGZzm_ZFCnfg/edit#gid=1216032789 and search for "lost" or "reapply". You will find zero hits.

I get your anxietey but if your application hasn't received AOR, the probability that IRCC has no records of it is 100%.
This is wrong, my application is in their system and they can access it but they don't process it. I explained in the other thread.
