Hello Experts,

I wanted to give IELTS first to get an idea where I stand so received IELTS results yesterday and posting my query here.

Need some opinion on chances on my case before I apply. If yes, which province (category, job code etc ). Please advise

Getting total CRS score of around 35-360 on link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Please find below my case details :

- Age – Recently Completed 40 years

- Bachelors in Engineering from one of the top 10 colleges in India and Master of Science from USA in Industrial Engineering (education assessment not done yet); do we have to get both Bachelors and Masters degree assessment done or only master's?

- Overall 15 years work experience with 12 years in in IT – Business Analyst/System Analyst, Manager kind of roles, - Out of 12 , around 10 years US full time work experience

- IELTS score - Listening 7, Reading - 7, Writing - 8 , Speaking - 8.5 (I think is equal to CLB 7 as per http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp)

- Spouse – MBA in healthcare from India (not working since last 10 years)

- Spouse will be appearing for IELTS soon and should get atleast CLB7 in IELTS

- I have traveled to Canada twice on tourist visa earlier and both myself and spouse has valid Canadian tourist visa

- Kids US citizens born in US ( I don't think it matters but just mentioning as FYI)

- My father’s sister daughter is Canadian Citizen since last many years ( I think to get points relative in canada should be blood relative like brother, sister, father, mother ?)

you are eligible for Express Entry program

First you need to evaluate your credentials (both bachelor and master ) from WES for you and your spouse

your grades in IELTS is perfect but if you could get 8 in Listening will push you with extra points for CLB 9

your spouse IELTS will be very helpful too

Thanks Sasa80.

Due to my personal situation, it won't be possible to give IELTS again. Moreover I have given many listening tests for practice before IELTS exam and I never got 8 in listening ....

There are different agencies for education assessment - some agencies says if you have masters degree then bachelors degree assessment also mandatory...Also heard if you just do master's it is easier to get the assessment done as compare to both degrees as one gets points for Masters also (highest level degree) .Pls guide for my profile which agency is right for education assessment and only Master's or both Masters and bachelors assessment ?

Also my wife has Bachelors in physiotherapy and MBA in health care (no work ex since last 10 years), to get points for her which agency and only Masters assessment for her ? Also I am surprised to see that my wife's bachelors college is showing blacklisted in one of the assessment agency website so I think other agency might have similar data so to be on safe side better to get only masters done for her if bachelors is not mandatory ?

from my experience in WES you will need to evaluate both bachelor and Master even master is the most recent one (I have Master and they requested me to evaluate both bachelor and master degree-in same file number with same fees) I don't know about other credential evaluation bodies you can check with them

there is no points for your wife work experience so no worries, points are only for her IELTS and education which need to be evaluated
