Is the gcms note from CSIS the same as the one from CIC gcms note?
Do you mean that the gcms note from CSIS is the the immigration screening file? I requested my ss screening file through this website, https://www.csis-scrs.gc.ca/scrtscrnng/index-en.php#bm02, and I believe they will send me a document, not a CD. Do I missing anything here? Thank you for your advice.

It is different from the CIC GCMS notes. It takes around 31 days to get CSIS gcms notes whereas the fax response from CSIS takes 8 weeks.

Thank you very much for the information. Since I live outside Canada, I need to get the CSIS notes from a third party. Is the CSIS notes also called CBSA notes? I saw sometimes online agencies put the names together.

You need to apply through the same portal and select the agency, CSIS and CBSA all are different agencies. So, you need to select the agency from which you want gmcs notes. Thing is if you were inside Canada it was all free, but to pay for it is a waste of money. In my opinion, it would not expedite your application.

Iam June CEC applicant. I have had Meds passed, R10 passed , Elligabilty& Criminality all passed. My BG check is NA and has been since ADR Oct 4th..i called a CIC agent a few weeks ago and he said to manage my expectations it could be April until i get a response. So i assumed i was i SS. Im from Australia & Only lived Aus & Canada. I called again this morning & the agent advised that they have put a 4 month buffa on CEC apps as there is a backlog & i might expect an answer in March but everything on my application looks good..... so whyyyyyyy are ppl getting their PPRs 1-3 months and mine gets pushed back ?!?! It just doest make any sense- anyone else been told this?
P.s the lady advised i wss NOT in SS.... im so confused

Not until 2 years. In gcms notes (admissibility sectiin)under criminality tab they mention the exact date until which they are valid and its usually 2 years.

It does not work on first come first serve basis, I am waiting for 13 months. Ask for gcms notes, you might get some idea about the progress.

simply and bluntly put: the officer wants it that way.

no sense, no reasons, nobody in that highly dysfunctional environment can do anything about it too, including the minister (personal first-hand account), so either just wait it out or file a writ of mandamus
