Brief synopsis of my current situation:
  • Submitted last November (2016) as 'OUTBOUND' while living in Toronto
  • Ottawa 'approved' my application and sent it to the local office in April with a notice we'd hear back by the end of June.
  • After hearing nothing for months, we got out local MP involved in September.
  • MP's office discovered my application had been unknowingly sitting in a room for over 6 months 'untouched'.
  • In late October, my husband and I had to go to the Etobicoke office to resign all my application forms so they could resubmit me because they let my RCMP security clearances lapse.
  • I'm now 'approved' overall, but can't get my PR until the clearances come back.
Realistically, how long am I going to be sitting here waiting for this? I've got a HUGE opportunity that just came my way and I can't imagine they'll just wait around for MONTHS.

Thank yoU!

"CIC mishap" is a very nice way of explaining what happened to you. I would probably be using a word that begins with "f" instead.

Unfortunately I highly doubt any of us will be able to tell you how long you'll be waiting because your situation is so unusual. However because your situation is so unusual, I would further leverage your MP to put pressure on CIC to fix their "mishap" and complete processing asap.

Good luck.

We got our MP involved again, but said there isn't too much they can do at this point to pressure the RCMP. She forwarded a letter I wrote detailing all our issues to the Federal Minister of Immigration, but I doubt anything will come of that. And yes...there have been a lot of choice words the past few months around this whole thing.

I had a "mishap" too
Discovered in GCMS notes in July of this year that rcmp report was "requested" with due date of apr 1 2017. Ordered first set of notes in June and saw in July they requested it and did not send us email.

Should have sent the report in as I had it ready in may however it seems that they don't look at it until after the 120
Days they give you to submit
So 120 days (4 f'ing months) was up as of Monday 2 days ago even though we submitted it on July 20.

If we are lucky they might finish processing it by Jan 25, 2018 which is our 12 month mark in processing.

Right now at least I am
Visiting my partner whom I haven't seen since January. You realize how much time has passed by and that life is short not to spend the time Together.

Anyone who thinks they might be asked for rcmp report
Send it in!!!! These mix ups happen so don't wait for the request
It will just add time to processing or put you on inactive pile like the above OP or with our app. You can't trust the government to look after your best interests! To then you are just a number, not real
People who
Want to make the most of the short time we have in this planet!
