Just called CIC for the automated updated and it stated that my Medical has been accepted, I don't need an interview and that my background check review has not yet started, they don't need fingerprints (I sent criminal check and Schedule A) Based on current timelines from recent applications, any idea how long I could still wait?

Expect a few months at least if BGC not started yet, we're at 8.5months now it's a long wait. Really depends on the application and the VO.

Here is a link with instructions on how to get a Police Cert. based on each country: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp
I think you can go ahead and get the Police Cert even if they haven't requested it yet, because depending on the country, it can take up to several weeks to get it. Once they request it, they give you a 30-day deadline to submit it. If you've lived in more than one country, you need one from each country that you have spent more than 6 months in since the age of 18.

No this number is for all the applications, you need to select option 1,1,2 then it will ask for the application number & then select the option to hear the status.

Hi, So the status update we hear over phone, is that the same as the one showing in GcKey? My representative has access to my gckey so I am only relying on the automated status update over phone. Thanks

--> Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam.
--> Review of additional documents: The additional documents you provided have been uploaded.
--> Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
--> Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
--> Background check: Not applicable.
--> Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Sch A, PCC and photo were uploaded as requested on Oct 31.

Anyone know, why BG check shows "Not applicable". Its odd.

It is the same for us. Apparently it stays like this until they start the background check.

i have the same status but they didn't tell me that the application was transferred to the visa office.
did they send you an e- mail saying that or not ?
