Hi guys,

Is anyone been subject for quality assurance exercise?

I applied for citizenship last August, received a letter from the local immigration office stating that I was randomly selected for quality assurance. They asked for a RCMP fingerprint, a lot of documents including addresses with landlord letter if your a tenant, property tax bill if you owned a house, entry/exit from country of origin, t4 and ROEs for the past five years... etc

Is this normal?

Please share your experiences guys.

Thanks

That sounds a lot like Residence Questionnaire. Google it, lots of information on this forum, assuming that's what it is. Not sure why they called it "Quality Assurance"

Thought CIC always make people believe that employment is not a requirement for citizenship, so why are they asking for t4, ROE... At what stage did they ask you for this info, after the test or before?

Also when I applied for my PR I have a son born out of wedlock back home. Our relationship didn’t go well and her family didn’t like me.I declared him non-accompanying dependent, I wrote an explanation to CIC that I don’t have any communication with him.

Should I declare him again on my
Citizenship application?

Please advise. Thanks

I think they want me to prove that I was really physically present her in Canada on the relevant years that I declared. I haven’t taken the test yet.
It’s just after they sent me the AOR.

No idea at all, I got my PR last may of 2012 and went back home in June of 2015 for a month and applied last August. So technically I am over the days required.
Looks like you got RQ. I just rechecked the quality assurance program, and it says, if chosen, "we will ask you to attend an interview with an IRCC official to: verify that the documentation and any other info you submitted is accurate"

Unless they are doing some kind of shady job. CRA consent is to check if u are in compliance with tax filing requirements. Unemployed people have gotten their citizenship in the past

How about the question that I asked regarding my non-accompanying son, do I need to declare it again? Their is a question there that says “ where all your close family members (spouse, children, mother, father, siblings) on your relevant years? Provide their country of residence.

What’s the RQ again? I don’t like interviews but I’m confident enough to say that I can answer all their questions because everything is accurate and true. But hopefully they skip the interview, lol

RQ = Residence Questionnaire. It's typically sent to an applicant when IRCC doubts the applicant was present in Canada for the days s/he is claiming to have been.

Strange. May be it is random. I know people with 20-30 trips who became citizens in months, no RQ.
