The passport request and CoPR are issued by the VO. So if your application is being processed in London VO, then they will send you the PPR email and you will have to mail your passport to London VO to get your CoPR. Sending the applications to Ottawa just for the purpose of PPR and issuing CoPR is currently only happening to people whose entire application is being processed in Mississauga. This is because Mississauga was never a visa office and only started doing late stage processing two months ago due to the backlog in Ottawa. Most applicants currently being processed in Mississauga would have traditionally been processed in Ottawa. Thanks Masonb6888! So to be clear my understanding from reading this thread is:
- Application is sent and initially processed at CPC-M
- If everything is in order it is usually forwarded to London (for UK and Pakistan applicants)
- London perfoms background checks etc, taking an unknown length of time to do so
- They then issue a Decision Made and, assuming PR is granted, send the file to Ottawa
- Ottawa, although currently experiencing a backlog, will issue a passport request
- Upon receipt of appropriate documents, CoPR is posted to applicant.
Please correct me if any of that is wrong.
