Hi guys I have been lurking on here quite a while and wanted to shed some light on our application.

We sent in our application at the end of July, my wife is sponsoring me inland and I am from the UK (I have been here in Canada for 12 years). We were able to link my account to our mailed application I believe around the middle of September. We learned after a lot of attempts to do this and checking on Google, that the best way is to enter the bare minimum amount of information when trying to link the account. Do not fill out the section requiring passport information and other details, and try that. We must have tried 20 or 30 times before finally getting it to work (it took about 5 consecutive days of trying as you only get 5 tries)...

I also spoke on the phone with an Call Centre agent he informed me that the OWP can take more than 4 months to process as they wait until the sponsor has been approved and then process the work permit fairly quickly after that not sure how accurate that info is.

Hi everyone! Just wondering if you are having the same experience up to now. Application received by Mississauga on Sept 1st after I completed what was missing (app returned Aug 17 and resent Aug 30)but still no news yet.
Besides my 6 months visitor visa ends Nov 19. Should I extend my visa now or just wait till I get AOR for implied status. If so, won’t this affect my OWP?
Thanks all for your help.
Right now AORs are taking around 2 months after app is received. You are suppose to apply for visa extension 30 days before the one you have expires. I think you should apply for extension soon otherwise if you don't get aor in time then you will be out of status and they wont issue owp till you receive AIP.

People at the end of August are still waiting for aor. You might or might not get it in time before your visa expire. Its a hit and miss. I would renew it if i wanted to get my owp

Hi, I have a question. I passed my in-land application and OWP last Sept 17 and CIC received it on September 20. I also passed a visitor extension last August but it still hasn't been processed yet. Anyway, I'll be on implied status starting this November since my immigration stamp on my passport was made last May. I kinda need the OWP asap cos I need my health card renewed. I am currently 4 mos. pregnant. My question is can I go to the airport I got in and asked from an immigration officer a new immigration stamp? Will that be possible?
You mentioned you are 4 months pregnant. Do you have private insurance to cover health care costs, or paying out of pocket? I was asking because my wife and are planning for a child and are trying to figure out timelines and such.

Application sent to missisuaga on august 26th...havent heard anything yet.... can anyone recommend anything?

Still waiting for AOR as well. My application would have been received September 6th. Will post something when AOR comes in.

Also, why is it that the spreadsheet now requires permission to access?

Let’s hope that the summer backlog clears soon and the AOR’s start coming through. I find it frustrating at the lack of transparency with the immigration process. Peoples lively hoods hang in the balance with no updates. I know they are doing the best they can with what they have but still doesn’t make the process less stressful.

App recieved oct 16th
No AOR but criminal record checks were sent in with app.

Other time line is original app sent in august 18 no info until it was returned on October 5th due to missing form (they were in the package just attached to the OWP app) resubmitted and now we wait.

We’ve also applied for the BC PNP program waiting for an invitation, we’ve considered my spouse going back to England and applying there as the time line is significantly less for OWP 5weeks.

Hi, Thank You for sharing your inputs on how to link the application online. I had literally given up after multiple failed attempts but will try again basis your inputs and hope it works out this time. Could you also please confirm if you were able to link it up before getting the AOR or was it after as I'm still waiting on it so was wondering if it would be wise to try it only after we receive the AOR?

I have actually been looking at all the docs my spouse received and all of them have come from the VISA office in London England. It may be the nationality of certain applicants requires that application to be sent to their Country of citizenship. Which in turn may influence processing times.. As I know the England has one of the shortest OWP application times of 5 weeks only surpassed by Greece and Italy of 2-3 weeks. its crazy.

Are you residents of Ontario? I can give information or figure out something for your pregnant wives who do not have health cards at the moment to receive antenatal care. Get in touch with me if interested.

Got a request for schedule A.

1) Whats the fastest way to get FBI clearance? is it through a channel or directly with FBI?
2) if OWP was submitted same time as application, does it depend on schedule A and all that stuff?
