Hello,

My wife is applying for PR very soon, and I want to know how is it going to benefit me and under what category I can apply ?

Also want to know that is it necessary for her to go to Canada first after her visa approval or we both can sort it out here first and then can go?

Thanks.

That's my question, can I apply with her as a spouse ?
I don't want to apply as a seperate individual because I wouldn't be able to get good points as I don't hold a degree whereas she does !

you can't not apply as individuals. once she opens the application and adds she's married it will automatically request your info. your points are combined. please do the calculator to see

Yes you can and should. She will be main applicant and you will be spouse. Both of you will need to have your qualifications verified by a Canadian body like WES and both will need to take the IELTS exam as well, this will help with points. The other would be work experience from both of you.

Only the main applicant hast to take IELTS and do ECA, for the spouse it's optional. Also, the work experience for spouse doesn't add any points if it's outside Canada.

Yes but if you want additional points then having IELTS and qualifications assessed will help. But again all up to you. That's what I mean.

Thanks a lot..
I would definitely do the Ielts as well if that is going to help us in increasing points..
Does she also have to be working for some period of time ?
Heard you can't apply if you don't have a working experience.
Also how much points do you need in order to be hopeful that you will get your visa..
Please also send me the link for the calculator.
Thanks

She needs to have at least one year of continuous work experience in NOC 0, A or B within the last ten years.
Of course the more the better.

Is it necessary to work in one place for a year or an all together 1 year experience can be shown as well?
