I don't think so because they did not specified about that. Do you have any source to support your claim? If you do not inform IRCC then it would consider misrepresentation. If you get caught you could be in big trouble! Yeah I know many people lie and never get caught!
Misrepresentation means that you
deliberately omitted facts or altered them. Even if there is an obligation to inform IRCC about travels, if you don't do it due to oversight, that's not misrepresentation. It's still a mistake, but don't throw the word misrepresentation and lie around so easily.
There is a big difference between hitting someone with a car by accident and deliberately hitting someone with a car. And in the same way there is a big difference between being sloppy with your application and misrepresentation.
Furthermore, the request to inform IRCC about longer travels is just them wanting to know how to reach you. This request is not backed up by the citizenship act and therefore can't be misrepresentation anyways.
Of course you should still inform them.
