PoF isn't on the checklist for CEC, it's not required. Being employed isn't a requirement for PR, don't worry.

Proof of funds is not required for Inland CEC applicants, as long as you reside in Canada and have a valid work permit.
If you declare some funds, you'll have to prove them.

Best option is to not declare anything ($0), that will remove the POF document upload requirement.

As to whether this as a real negative or positive impact on an application, can't tell, but it shouldn't.
As long as you hold a valid WP, and apply under CEC, being employed is not a requirement, nor having a lot of savings, or having a job offer (valid or not...).

Of course if you have a certain amount in savings (preferably close to the minimum required for FSW), it certainly won't hurt to declare it.
But you will have to justify it, and show it is not simply a quick cash flow, but actual savings. If you can't, don't.

Also, make sure your OINP application doesn't have some requirements of it's own.
Those should still be met when you apply for PR.

Hi Experts,

I am in Canada, working since 13 months, received ITA under CEC.

Before getting the ITA, I mentioned 12500 in the section of how much funds I am going to get in Canada.

Now once I had mentioned 12.5k then will it be nice to show 12.5k as POF or should I go ahead and change the amount to 0$, as funds are not required for CEC class???? Which option is best for me.

will CIC find it weird if I change it to 0$.
For a safer side if I show 12500$ as POF then will it be fine?

Kindly reply experts.

If you are applying under the Canadian Experience Class programme, you do not require proof of funds, so you can change it to $0.00 safely. If you don't change the number, your personalized document checklist will show a placeholder for uploading proof of funds documents, and you'll have to upload a letter stating you are applying under CEC and are not required to provide proof of funds.

You can put 0 for POF. But please remember to mention it to the officer in your LOE. Don't just put it and "silent".

Thanks a lot @crescent_jam
Just to confirm if I don't put 0.00$ and attach LOE in POF section of document upload section, will that be right?

Hi I am in similar situation here. The difference is that I am invited under PNP, NOT CEC. But I think PNP doesn't require POF as well, right?
If I declare $0.00 under "how much money you will bring to Canada..." and there will be no slot requiring POF. I plan to do it this way and mention it in explanation letter that "I am invited to apply under PNP so I didn't include POF, etc..." Is this alright?

Actually, I've never heard of PNP not having to show proof of funds - I could be wrong, but I'm certain PNP candidates would have to show proof of funds, unless they meet the same exemptions as non-PNP candidates (1) applying as part of the CEC stream OR, 2) being authorized to work in Canada AND have a valid job offer).
My understanding is that PNP applicants who apply under Express Entry, must meet the requirements of and apply as a part of one of the three Express Entry streams (FSW, CEC and FST), so PNP applicants applying under the CEC stream wouldn't have to provide proof of funds...but PNP applicants applying as a part of the FSW or FST streams have to show proof of funds just like any other FSW or FST candidate... And PNP applicants who are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer also wouldn't have to provide proof of funds...

I just re-checked my EE profile, PNP is listed seperately from other 3 categories:

Federal Skilled Worker Met - Federal Skilled Worker
Provincial Nominee Program Met - Provincial Nominee Program
Canadian Experience Class Met - Canadian Experience Class
Federal Skilled Trades Not Met

And my ITA letter just says I am invited under PNP, no other information, so I am confused here if I need proof of fund. Because they only say if you are invited under FSW/FST, you need it; if you are under CEC, you don't need it. The only connection between PNP and proof of fund is as I mentioned, PNP is kind of considered as part of CEC stream?

I don't think PNP is automatically considered part of the CEC Stream. Do you have 1 year of full-time, paid, legal Canadian work experience in an NOC Skill Type/ Level 0, A, or B, within the last 3 years, that was not obtained while you were a student?
