IP2 possible same day as MEP @ Sydney NS

Hello All, My AOR is 28th Sep and my medicals got cleared today. The BG status was always NA since AOR. Today it got updated as follows:
I never saw BG status go into any other value. Since this is the first time it changed it would be IP1 right despite the wording. Please confirm.

Many people say its IP2, so it's confusing. My application is still in CIO Sydney NS.

Application status We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents The additional documents you provided are being reviewed.
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

I suspect its IP1, please guide.

You can call CIC and ask whether your eligibility passed or not.

Your eligibility will be passed in NA2 (between IP1 and IP2). If passed, then you are IP2. Otherwise, you are IP1.

Thanks Andy for the reply, I am applying under FSW-O and country of residence is USA. country of citizenship is India.

I had sent them an email yesterday to ask about my Visa office. They replied back saying "Please note that your application is currently at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia and has not yet been transferred to a local visa office."

So was wondering why the BG status is different than the regular IP1. maybe its just how they process the file. I will wait a couple of weeks before bugging them again!

I am in the same situation. My AOR is 11th Dec . On 22nd Dec, I got Medical passed and same day I had BG status as "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information." Some people says it is IP2 and some says it is IP1. May I know what happened to your case ?

Its ip1 guys,it will change to Na and then application shifts to either lvo or Ottawa where Ip2 takes place.Wordings are same these days,I also had an similar experience.
