Hello I believe PC will be required for your case. My understanding is that: it will be 4 years from the day you submit your application.
Say if you submit on 15 OCT 2017, the 4 year to be evaluated will be: 15 OCT 2013 - 2017.

Any country you have stayed for more than 183 days - accumulated - will be required a PC.

My situation is a bit similar to yours but a better result.

PR in FEB 2013 and I was in a country from March to August 2013 and been in Canada since then - I did take some trips aboard but only few days each time.

If I submit my application on 15 OCT 2017, I will be required to calculate the time from 15 OCT 2013 - 2017, which I will not exceed the 183 PC requirement. Though if you calculate the earlier time in 2013, it will exceed 183, but the guide specifically stated that it would be 4 years immediate before you apply - so I am luckily exempted.

Would be great if someone can verify that my understanding is correct.

I can see the logic behind C24 asking for 4 yrs PC which aligns with 4 out of 6 year residency requirement, but for C6's 3/5 and asking for 4 yr PC is a bit out of logics.

So I am starting to prepare for our citizenship application and I just have a question about this...

My husband (Canadian) and I together with my son traveled to the US for a week. Is this considered an absence?
I read somewhere (I cannot find it at the moment lol) that if you travel with Canadian spouse it is not counted as absence. is this true? I know I can print the I-94 to prove that we all traveled together.
How about on the PR calculator? should I include the travel or not?

- no it doesn't count as presence in Canada unless your spouse works for the Canadian foreign service in the US
- yes, you still have to declare the absence

The days that you you are traveling in the US does NOT count as physical presence time IN canada towards citizenship application. You need to enter those traveling days on the PR calculator as "away days".

being with Canadian spouse while they are working/traveling overseas only contribute for days on RO for maintaining PR status.

I have been following ur posts for a year now. Thanks for ur hard work. I need ur opinion on my situation. I have been in Canada for last six years now and i qualify for citizenship under c6. But I have been job hunting these days. If i got a job i have to move to another city in Canada. I want to ask you should i apply Oct 12 and then later on update CIC about my new city. Or should I wait till i have moved and apply from my new location to avoid moving my application from one processing centre to another

I am facing one issue with my application, my passport is expired since last April and I didn't renew it cz i have had no plan to leave Canada since I have arrived Canada and gotten the permanent residence. Will it be a big issue for its expired ?!!

Make sure to explain why you didn't renew your passport. No point in worrying if it's a pretty viel or not. Don't worry about things you can't change anymore.

I want some clarification regarding Language Requirement.

• I did IELTS long back & submitted it with my PR application. I assume, same (Photo Copy) will work as well with Citizenship Application
• My wife attended English language CLB course with Level 7 & institution issued a certificate (filled by hand). Will it work or do I need to get it issued from any Govt. Office?

Address changes can be a hassle. I would wait, but others would say apply asap. There is no clear cut, factual answer here.

If you know you are moving in the next 2 weeks, apply after you have moved and have a valid address. You dont want mail to get lost.
It will likely be a month or two for AOR, so you wont be able to update your address until then likely.
Why take a chance unless you are in a hurry to get the passport due to upcoming travel/work reasons etc.
