Sydeny CIO just receives applications and sends out AOR. Applications are then routed to respective visa offices. ( For ex - Ottawa for Inland/USA applicants, NDVO for India etc.) for final processing.

Thanks one more question, I was wondering if the officer along the way would ask the applicant to send a new schedule 1 form, I noticed for some applicants they did in the past, just wanted to know if it's the same for everyone.

Schedule 1 or any other form has to be resubmitted if the form was updated by CIC before the applicant submitted his/her application and he/she did not use the latest form. This happened in my case. there can be other reasons but this is what I know.

Short Ans is No, I do not think so...looks CSQ holder does not have any privileges for the App for WP

I phoned IRCC an hour ago and asked him a couple of questions regarding my PR status and also how to apply for work permit (If you are under visitor status).
I believe his answer regarding work permit would be very significant to some of you guys!!!
He said: "You cannot apply for a work permit online if you are under visitor status in Canada. you have to fill out the forms (work permit outside Canada) and send your application to New York".

There is no definitive way. Couple of us requested GCMS notes to find out status of Security Check and almost all of us have same status in GCMS i.e Security: Not started.

Only exception is @POLYNING :

You can , theoretically, reach out to CSIS to get status of your Immigration Screening. No-one seems to have used this option so far.

Only in some cases. You can only apply for a work permit from inside Canada if:

• you, your spouse or parents have a valid study or work permit,
• you have a work permit for one job but want to apply for a work permit for a different job,
• you have a temporary resident permit that is valid for six months or more, or
• you are in Canada because you have already applied for permanent residence from inside Canada. You will have to pass certain stages in the main application process before you can be eligible for a work permit.

Personally I don't believe the IRCC agents who response to our calls, because I never get the same response if I called for the same issue two times.

They are human and they response according to what they understood, or how they want to understand the situation.

I got my notes today finally (40 days of waiting). Looks like I am going to be waiting a while, since criminality is still in progress, medical is passed, eligibility and security are not started. Last note says "All docs on file. RFO". Annoying thing is that file was marked for transfer to another officer (I guess for final assessment) back in July and as of 10th of September it has not been transferred still (and judging by lack of progress it still hasn't been transferred). Other interesting thing is that even though the eligibility is "not started" there is an activity on eligibility assessment which says "recommend pass". I guess they are waiting for my wife criminality to be completed.
The file is in QC-pending inventory.
