An update on my application. DM on sponsor side. I was out of status when applying, so I just got my work permit in the mail yesterday. I think this means I'm nearing the end.

That means you have AIP as well

Out of status means you have to wait until you reach AIP to apply for (or be granted) an OWP. So, that's how I know .

Hi everyone just a question. I was out of status when applying for the family sponsorship. My lawyer sugested I was ineligible to apply for a work permit. So I didn't not. Was he correct to tell me that. Well I believed him until I read on this forum when someone said he was out of status and just received his work permit? Can I apply now even though it's been a year since I sent my application?

Out of status is ineligible. But, they will just hold the application, until you pass the eligibility stage (AIP). They will send the permit once AiP has passed.

I'm a June 2016 applicant I got medical request and police clearene in April 2017 but after that I'm not getting any update...when I check the status it just shows that application in process..can someone please tell me how long it could take more for landing?

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt.
AIP - Approval in Principle. You have a letter that states you are eligible to apply for a PR.

Well I did call my lawyer that how do we check the sponsor side he said it's same thing so I don't know about it...
