hi

I am not sure if we will have to redo the medical, but just asking to be ahead of the game here. Both my husband and his daughter had to get their medical done with their application. Old application but new timeline (app rec de. 7 2016 so we fall within new timeline).
His medical was done in Nov or oct last year, it will be expired and his daughther too.

However, his daughter is NOT coming with him to canada and CIC is aware of that, so if medical is to be redone, will it only be his, since he is the only one coming here??

Wonder why they want his daughter redone, she is not coming to canada at all. I will contact CIC to find out. It makes no sense.

The initial one is for later on in life she ever apply to come, mainly is a dna test i believe. Why should it be redone, the application states she isnt coming now. It should only be needed again when she decides to come later on. Makes no sense at all!

i get what youre saying.. but rules are rules... from CIC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=988&top=4
I have applied for permanent residence. My spouse or partner and children are not coming with me. Do they need to get a medical exam?
Yes. All of your accompanying and non-accompanying dependants must have a medical exam performed by a Panel Physician approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Non-accompanying dependants must undergo a medical exam to make sure they are admissible to Canada. They must be admissible to maintain their eligibility to be sponsored by their family members in the future.

Having inadmissible dependants might make you inadmissible as an applicant for permanent residence.

So based on this its to make sure that she is STILL admissable so that he can get his PR. Makes complete sense to me :)

Let CIC be the judge of whether it makes sense or not. Even if she is not coming.. all dependants of the sponsored person are required to undergo Medical. This has to do with the dependants future admissibility into Canada, or being sponsored later on in life. Since the dependant in question has already undergone medical, shouldnt you be clear on the reasons already? And if you havent received an explicit request by CIC to redo her medical so far, then what are you on about?

You are not understanding my question, she GOT her medicals done, i know already what u have posted thag is not what i am wondering, i am asking about when they request it to be redone at the interview, before the applicant gets their PR, if she will need to redo hers again, since she isnt coming and getting PR....

You understand me,
i havent received the request yet but will soon, because it is expiring in oct or nov and i want to know to ensure my husband is aware how much he needs to save, if u read my original post i am clear about why i am inquiring to know a bit ahead of the game. Better be safe than sorry. :)

Thanks

thats the thing, it wont matter if his daughter's medical expires, because we already declared she is not coming, it will be expired and will need to be redone if we decide on her coming later on
I know the prices....... i think u dont understand that i want to know from someone who had that same experience who could tell me....

coming or not she will HAVE to redo it... regardless peoples conditions change quickly... per the information above... not sure why this is so difficult to understand... she NEEDS to redo it COMING TO CANADA OR NOT... simple. best bet is to call CIC and hear it from the horses mouth

Only want to say that if they do end up autimatically renewing your husband's and his daughter's medicals, they don't notify you. My partner's medicals expired on July 30 and they automatically renewed them but only way I knew was by seeing it in the GCMS notes (this was done back in May when they opened our file at the visa office). Otherwise I would still be wondering if they would be sending him a request to redo.
