Hey Guys,

I got my PPR on 31st August. They have asked me to submit my passport to NDVO. But, I am currently in Sharjah for a new job.
Can anyone suggest if I can submit my passport at Abu Dhabi VFS? How much time will it take?

Awaiting replies.
Cheers !

Congrats. Make sure you inform CIC first about the change of your address so they change your visa office to Abu Dhabi. Good luck

Hi everyone,

Got PPR email from ADVO on 31st August, I am traveling end of this month and next month so have emailed them asking for an extension of 30 more days. Any recent estimates on how much time does it take to receive stamped passport back? I read a few pages ago it took someone 21 days. Is that the timeline now or some of you have been waiting longer than that?

Thanks

They say it's a minimum of 15 working days but it's taking more than that recently

thanks, will wait for them to reply to my extension request then. Can't risk submitting it at the moment.

Hey Guys,
Congratulations on getting your PPR!
Let's connect for a few questions and keep this thread alive:

1. Can a New Delhi VFS applicant submit his passport to VFS Canada Abu Dhabi ? (Just shifted on a new work visa).

2. Does Abu Dhabi VFS Canada has a photo taking facility at the centre ?

3. How long do they normally take for processing the visa ?

Await replies!

1 - Yes, as answered by dr feras, you can write to them and change it to Abu Dhabi visa office. However, since you are in Sharjah, why would u go to the VFS in Abu Dhabi? Once you get a change in change to Abu Dhabi visa office, please give the pp to Dubai VFS. Why drive all the way to AUH?

2 - No idea.

3 - 3 to 4 weeks as per current timelines.

Hi,

While I was waiting for the passport I checked with VFS and there is a process to withdraw the passport if you really need it and the visa process still continues and you can resubmit the passport when they're ready. You can check with VFS.

Also, a guy has mentioned on this forum earlier that when he requested for his passport to be withdrawn the embassy guys processed his application quickly and sent him the passport with visa stamped.

Thanks

This is not always the case, in regards to the 2nd point. Otherwise we would all say we need the passport and get ahead of the queue lol. That person was just lucky and probably showed evidence of a real emergency. :)
