The 23 days is an estimate, not a commitment, it can take less or more than that. I would give it at least 50 days before expecting any communication.
Good Day
Thank you for your reply.
I have a few questions if you don't mind. As can be seen from your post activity you clearly are one of the more senior members on this forum. However I would like to point out / ask a few thins.:
- Where do you get the "50 day before expecting communication" figure from? As bad as Canada's immigration website is, it is brilliant and very transparent in releasing statistics and does so every 6-months for Visitor Visas. (Excluding ETA's) During the latest release of 2017 figures there were 350'000 Visitor Visas issued 87% which was approved and of those 350'000 the average processing time was 18-days (not working days) so how can you tell me 50 days? Not saying you are wrong just saying this is highly contradicting towards official statistics....? (OFFICIAL STATS LINK)
Normal. Online status are a courtesy and not a real time system. They can take weeks to update it. Some never do.
2. If online status is a courtesy and not a real time system why have it at all? I thought the whole system was specifically introduced to, make the application process "real time" in order to speed up the application process interms of documents needed, communication request etc. Another senior member told me a ghost email gets triggered to your inbox whenever an official access your file, that's how "automated it is"
If what you are saying is correct, what is the actual purpose of the online status, to look modern, or to confuse users?
Im sorry if I sound rude, but I have been over Europe, Aus, Asia, and have never dealt with such a clueless immigration system.
Im asking you specifically since it is clear you have been on here long enough to know how things work.
If you are correct, I would like to withdraw my application with immediate affect, and rather take my hard earned money and vacation time somewhere else. (Might not make a difference to the Can government but will make a difference to me)
Primary reason for my visit to go and see a friend, he/she put in holiday specifically for the time-frame correlated to advised time visa process would take on the website.
If what you are saying is correct he/she put in their holiday for nothing and I'd rather buy them a ticket to come and join me in a country for couple of weeks where there is not such a bureaucratically messed up system.
P.S just read CAN is planning on bringing in an additional 12'000 Syrian refugees wonder how much money they will spend during their trip, or then again maybe one is better of applying under one of those programs....
