You are expected to settle down there...however if you aren't able to find suitable employment,you can move,may be couple of years later....the nomination implies ull stay there...once u apply & become a citizen in 3-4 years u are free

there's no hard and fast rule mentioned anywhere about PNPs that nominees stay there for so long...and I've read before somewhere that revocation of PR (almost) never has happened in Canada as the policies are so favourable to the residents...
but now that the immigration momentum has picked up,provinces may do something to keep a check on misuse and if you are pulled up at some point,you need to have valid points..

my uncle who has PR in us was questioned for almost 2hrs @airport in US on landing with his family why they should be allowed entry & to retain pr status as they had returned previously to India after staying for couple of years only ...the officers even told that these are issued to serve a purpose & they don't want to waste on someone who doesn't value it... Canadian officers aren't that arrogant...but while later at a citizenship hearing, it may be held against you that you might not stick to the moral obligations...
He says to stay for 3 months ....may be that long or more...it's all ur choice ...
I wouldn't want myself to be on the wrong side & hence will try my best to have a valid case in my favour even if I move out of the province who nominates me...

Personally, I can't see where 3 months is trying very hard, but perhaps that comes from being old, lol.

3 months sounds WAY too short and is certainly a very short time in general in my opinion. These days even a year just passes me by. There is no minimum stay mandated by statute, but legal analysts have come up with 2 years as adequate:

This mandates that an immigrant who immigrated under the PNP should remain in the province which nominated him for about 2 years to show his intention. This number is no where in the law, but reading the immigration laws and regulations, this is what people have derived.

By moving to another province right after you get your immigrant status, your intentions may be questioned and you may be reported for misrepresentation. Here are a few things that you can do before you decide to leave the province that nominated you:

a. Actively look for other jobs within the nominating province.
b. Properly document your job hunting activities including the results for each job that you applied for.
c. Exhaust all means of finding employment inside the province.

If you don’t get job offers or if you’re offered a job but the offer you’re getting out of the province is for a higher position and for a significantly higher pay, then your move is justified. If you have these documented, your move to another Province would be justified and if questioned, you will have all the documents that you tried.

Hello All,
I have a question regarding work experience. I have worked in the Middle East under family visit visa and have 8 months experience. can i show this work experience as it would lead to a cumulative 3 years experience gaining me valuable 25 points in addition to my already 2 years 5 months experience in home country. However I didn't have a work permit in Qatar. would this work be termed legal or is the work permit requisition only for canadian work experience. I have all the documents in terms of offer letter, payslips and reference letter from the employer.

I believe you got clarified already but if not.

You can claim your work experience pertains to the respective NOC only, when you have experience >= 1 year.
When you claim the points, you should have respective official documents which substantiate your point like work reference letter, salary slips etc..

Since you mentioned, you were working under visitor visa, that's illegitimate to declare your work experience.

In my perspective, since you have PR card you have no restriction to wander over, settle through out canada. Having said that, when you are applying for citizenship the case becomes problematic.
It is advisable to search for job and stay in particular province for the least 2 years. When the search turns to be unsuccessful (which mostly won't be a case), you are encouraged to switch different province.
I reckon, Ontario is a fabulous province with plethora of job options.

It is expected that 93,880 (23,470 per month as compared to 23,450 per month for the 1st Quarter) more applications will be received by the end of this year. Expected CoPR to be issued is 65,000 (16,250 per month as compared to 29,350 per month for the 1st Quarter) by the end of this year.

Recent Changes on Cards:

1. As per the original plans, Human Resource was expected to be reduced but now IRCC has been allowed to hire temporary staff to speed up applications held in Offices throughout Canada (not sure about Visa offices outside Canada).

2. However, Security Checks are expected to be increased and a new power has been given to landing officers. This means if there are some red flags on applicants security checks then Security Officer may suggest Visa Office contact Landing Office before issuing CoPR. It may result in some applicants from certain backgrounds to fulfill certain criteria's before Visa can be issued. This new check also allows landing officer to ask applicants to reach from certain ports and tell officers the date and time they will arrive (or else ask applicants to arrive on certain dates).

3. PM of Canada also assured that they will provide all resources and staff required to complete applications on time especially for Refugees. There are also changes proposed for PNP applications including having a separate office in each partnering state to process their applications. If this change is implemented then the speed of PNP applications will match those of FSW nowadays.

4. For Inland applicants, the good news is that PM has asked IRCC to reduce the time of processing for them to achieve governments goals of retention of Valuable skills.

Point 1 & 2 are already in implementation stage while 3 & 4 are in Exposure Draft stage and may come into effect from Mid-2018 or later.
