No. They have access to call in on a special line, that gives them access to someone who does at CIC.unfortunately cant visit, we both work. But they have access to everything and can give answers right away?
oh nice! so they would be able to answer all.No. They have access to call in on a special line, that gives them access to someone who does at CIC.
I know, that our MP's office could tell me dates that everything was completed, what stage we were at, and what next steps they needed from us (I questioned the requirement for the re-do on my wife's medical -- they told me that CIC wanted us to hurry up, as they were ready to decide).oh nice! so they would be able to answer all.
Hi mia, congrats on your dm when did you apply? Did you see this on your gcms note " Queue for review"? ThanksSaw PR side DM'd this morning! Were they waiting for us to submit a OWP application before they were willing to give us a DM? LOL
I just got a response from his assistant, he requested that I fill out a form that allows him to ask for information on our behalf, I scanned and emailed it back and he should get me answers.!! yaaay! lets see what's happening.. lolI know, that our MP's office could tell me dates that everything was completed, what stage we were at, and what next steps they needed from us (I questioned the requirement for the re-do on my wife's medical -- they told me that CIC wanted us to hurry up, as they were ready to decide).
Yup, that's how ours did it as well. Within an hour of me sending that in (it was lunch, after all), I had an answer.I just got a response from his assistant, he requested that I fill out a form that allows him to ask for information on our behalf, I scanned and emailed it back and he should get me answers.!! yaaay! lets see what's happening.. lol
Congratulation!! Can you let us know your timeline?Saw PR side DM'd this morning! Were they waiting for us to submit a OWP application before they were willing to give us a DM? LOL
Yes will have her call. It says she needs it but says learn how to do medical upfront link. When you click on the link it says the doctor have to give the form. But haiti docs telling her she need the form from cic.Asking for it in her online account means the form is there. If not, she needs to call.
I have a couple comments. Do you want them here or in reply to your email?
Edit: They are pretty simple. You will see what I am saying (there is nothing personal, so I can mention here):
Personal History (#8):
- Change "Present" to 2017-09 (or 2017-08 if you are submitting the form before the 31st).
- There is a gap: 2013-08 to 2013-09.
Addresses (#12):
- Where did you live from 2017-06 ? (probably want to change that to 2017-0{8,9} as above).
Thanks! and no, I don't see any queue for review in our gcms notes (we requested notes back in May this year).Hi mia, congrats on your dm when did you apply? Did you see this on your gcms note " Queue for review"? Thanks
Thanks kimjae11! Detailed timeline of all actions here:Congratulation!! Can you let us know your timeline?
Thank you for sharing such a detailed time line!! Wow.. It took a year to get DM after AIP????? that seems really long... and how did you contact CSIS? I want to try that out since I really need to get my PR before the end of this yearThanks! and no, I don't see any queue for review in our gcms notes (we requested notes back in May this year).
Thanks kimjae11! Detailed timeline of all actions here:
01/2016 - Application Received
03/2016 - AOR
06/2016 - Requested and submitted IMM5669 & IMM5406
06/2016 - Submitted additional photos/statements to support our application
07/2016 - SA and AIP (1 week apart)
07/2016 - Medical sent and received
05/2017 - Requested GCMS notes - noticed that we have been waiting on security screening and all other background checks are completed
06/2017 - Reached out to MP to have them check on our status
07/2017 - MP tried to find out what department is doing security screening, but CIC could not provide the info to them
08/2017 - Contacted CSIS directly to request into the status of security screening
It's been just over 2 weeks since we contacted CSIS and saw the DM this morning. I wonder if our request to CSIS helped in moving things along? We plan to call tomorrow to find out whether it is likely that we will have to re-do a medical at this time point. DH is debating on whether to cancel his OWP application (submitted this past weekend) and save $255... We may keep the OWP application going, just in case the next few steps get delayed... *fingers crossed* it's so good to finally see movement on his application!!
I don't really think our time to DM (from AIP) is normal, so don't let it stress you out! I see in the GCMS notes that RCMP check was done by 10/2016, criminality check started in 10/2016 and completed in 03/2017. Security should have started before 10/2016 from the order of the updates shown in the notes, but it was still ongoing last we checked 2 weeks ago with the telephone agent.Thank you for sharing such a detailed time line!! it took a year to get DM from AIP... wow... if I can ask.. did you have some extraordinary life that may draw attention from CSIS?I don't really think our time to DM (from AIP) is normal, so don't let it stress you out! The CSIS website provides the instructions on how to request immigration screening status (https://www.csis-scrs.gc.ca/scrtscrnng/index-en.php#bm02). You have to either mail or fax them your request (and consent if requesting on behalf of another person) and will take up to 8 weeks to hear back. We have not heard back from them yet, so not sure how much this really helped in the process... I will update if we hear back from CSIS with anything interesting!
The request is fairly easy to put together, so if you're crunched for time, maybe give it a try? At least you would get a better idea of the progress on your security screening once you hear from them..
