For temporary accomodation when you first arrive I would say airBnB is a better option. Once you are there you can search Kijiji and have a look in person till you find a good place.
Your chances finding a job are better once you are there. Lots of agencies that can help you get something that suits your qualifications. I hear that those ads on indeed and other websites are useless.

I tried this... and tried... and tried. Then I atteneded a prepareforcanada.com webinar and found out that networking was the way to go for job hunting there. It will just frustrate you to try and get a job when you're still not landed. Prep your resume and cover letters the Canadian way first. Good luck!

Congrats on getting your PR!

1. The best way to find a place in Canada is through Facebook pages, Kijiji or realtors. As mentioned above, the safest option would to stay at an AirBnb for a few days and look for a place. If you know someone in Canada, then maybe he/she can check out the places for you. Also, quite a few ads on Kijiji are scams, so if you think anything is fishy, just drop the conversation.

2. Get your resume and cover letters in order. Reach out to people on LinkedIn and build connections that could help you land a job. Also, apply for jobs on Monster and Indeed.

All the best!

How to look out for Youth hostels? and are they safe ?
You could look at YMCA, hostelworld.com, booking.com etc depending on where your destination is.
They are usually safe (mostly travelers stay there) and have private room if you can afford it, but obviously nothing is 100%.

Brother. A BIG vote of thanks to you on behalf of all the members on this forum , I have been observing you responding to so many individuals with their queries. One does not expect a person with a ppr inside the bag to be this consistent with all his/her replies I have seen many that said we will be in touch even after the ppr, however nowhere to found now...lol
Not complaining really but just trying to say that your a Gentle soul and that is exactly how a doctor and more importantly a person in particular should be :)

Have a safe trip to Canada !

Stay blessed !

Thank you so much. Really appreciate your kind words. Like I said in many threads, just trying to give back some of the help I myself got here. This place, along with lots of research made it possible for almost everyone of us to make the canadian dream a reality without even having to use consultants anymore.
Best of luck to you and everyone :)

Hi Sanvi,

Could you please answer these questions for me:
1. For how much duration will the stamp be there on the passport. I have heard its either 3 or 6 months.
2. Will that 3/6 months start from PPR email date or stamping date ?
