if you're based in the US then I've heard it's far far quicker.

But if you do need to do the idiotic ink prints then I'd recommend sending at least 3 copies. Taken from two places and research how to get the best prints done as they seem to be very very strict.

Yes, everyone has to do those idiotic ink prints! Supposedly our police department here in New York does fingerprinting. I'm planning to go there and hope they will be able to take prints that are legible enough for the FBI!

From what I have read, the FBI processes the applications by date the application is received, so even those of us based in the US are going to have to wait 2+ months before our applications are opened, just like everyone else.

I have a question. My wife did not change her name after we got married. She is still keeping her last name and everything.

We've requested our criminal/background check from back home and on her criminal check they automatically included her last name as my last name and in bracket they wrote ''Born >Her LastName<''. I think back in my country they automatically write your last name to the husband's last name once you get married.

When I did the application, they asked if she is using any other names, I said ''No''. Will there be an issue because of that?

Please advise.

I have a relative in Canada, but I don't want to claim points for him to avoid extra paper work as I already have enough points under FSW six selection factors. If I state I don't have any relative in Canada, cic won't consider it as a misrepresentation?

In the same boat. What I ll do is to see that my CRS score is above the cut off score even when those 15 points are deducted. Then I would write an LOE to the VO that I do not intend to clain points for siblings. Never ever lie about these as it would amount to misrepresentation. Good luck

If you can have your degree with you when you get your ITA, then yes you can do that. Otherwise, you'd have to wait till you get your degree since they ask for proof.

Only siblings count as "relative", just in case you aren't aware. If that's not your sibling, you do not need to claim at all.

when I first started following this forum,there was some initiatives like each one updating their CRS etc / creating an Excel etc...

does anyone think it will be a good idea to have a list of members...
whoever who still come back here and find roh something special in their journey....and don't want to miss out anyone...may be once in Canada,at least we all can have a thread like this going to share our concerns & happy moments..at least be a support in spirit to one another...
if someone could create an Excel or something,it'd be good....
I was part of the ROH since 50s and many active members have dropped out......sadly....

US PRs and Citizens can use authorized FBI channelers significantly decreasing the processing time. Anyone else who are currently residing in the US who are not PRs or Citizens have to wait 2-3 months. Yes it sucks.

IMHO I think it is much more effective to obtain state level PCC's for EVERY state that you have lived in for 6 months or more along with local PCCs at your local police station from the city you have lived in for 6 months or more. At least it will still cover the locations that you were in and probably have an even faster turn around time. It is far too risky and time-consuming to wait 2-3 months to obtain a pcc that has the potential of rejection. It is completely silly. CIC knows it, FBI knows it but obviously each person has to wait in line.

Oh wow, thanks for the tip on FBI channelers. I had seen some discussion that they are not allowed by CIC, but the CIC website does say they are allowed:
