What are heath condition requirements to get PR?

Hi all,

Does anyone here know what are requirements on health/medical status of the applicant and dependants to be granted PR? Like New Zealand Immigration Office they published their operation manual with guidelines in what conditions the applicant will pass the heath check, but I don't know if CIC has something similar for us to refer.
I am considering to apply through PNP entrepreneur stream which will allow me come to Canada under work permit to set up new business and run it for 1 year, then I will be nominated to apply for PR, and the risk is if I don't pass medial check, I will have to leave Canada after heavily invest in Canada. Thats' why I want to look at the barrier I have to pass.
Any comment/info will be appreciated.

You have to prove that you will not be a drain on the health system as well as the social system. You will need to prove that your medical condition has not required $6500/year of medical services (medications, tests, doctor visits, etc). They will look at the past 5 years.

IRCC does not look at the past costs of a person's treatment. They estimate what the future costs will be for either 5 or 10 years after landing.

I have no serious health problem in the past, so past health care spending should not be problem. But prediction of future health care costs will depend on medical checkup result at time requested by IRCC and I'd like to know in which cases IRCC will consider that I am not in good health condition to be PR.

If you currently have no health issues you should be fine. You usually have to have a chronic illness or disability not to qualify. Obviously you can't predict the future but minor things like lightly elevated blood pressure won't be an issue.

The medical is part of the process that cannot be avoided so what will be will be should something turn up in the medical, nothing you can do about it even if you know in advance what conditions might be an issue to immigration other than the obvious chronic conditions. If you are in good health as far as you know then you have nothing to worry about and should not over think things, as said what will be will be.

As I said, IRCC doesn't look at past costs; given the variation in medical systems, it would not provide a relevant figure. The IRCC doctors will look at a person's medical condition(s) and essentially derive a 5 or 10 year treatment plan here in Canada and calculate that cost.

You were already told in the first response what the barrier is. There is no set list of conditions that make a person inadmissible.

This is something that keeps me worried as well . We are not getting any younger . Isn't it . Future is unpredictable. What we have in future we don't know . Can only wish and pray for our well being and healthy life . BTW I have applied under QIIP in late 2016 .

They are looking at chronic health issues like hepatitis or heart attack or stroke and transmittable diseases like HIV/AIDS or Tuberculosis.

Also genetic conditions, autoimmune diseases, developmental issues in children, cancer, kidney disease, severe mental illness, etc Generally aging with some mild hypertension maybe some type 2 diabetes is nothing.

At least under QIIP you are much safer in the sense that if they reject your PR application, you only lose some fees, and investment money will be returned. But in case of entrepreneur program, one must invest money and spend it for a year before can even apply for PR.
