My husband's passport was returned on Wednesday! It didn't take very long at all! We're so excited that everything has worked out!

Hello! Can anyone please share what kind of instructions are sent with the COPR? I'm wondering if there's anything related to the landing interview.

From what I heard, it happens at the first port of arrival and it can take quite a while. I'm just curious if they say anything about how long your connection at the first airport should be.

Hi acaselatto!

On the first two pages they provide some info regarding the COPR and the counterfoil affixed to the passport. Basically, they tell us not to sign our COPR until told to do so by the immigrant officer at the port of entry in Canada. Also that we must arrive in Canada on or before the expiry date that appears on our COPR. In addition, we must not write on or attempt to change the COPR in any way, but notify the office if any information is incorrect, so it can be returned.

The last three pages bring some basic information that you can easily find on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp. Some of them are related to: Medical Information/Surveillance, Employment Information, Arriving in Canada, Re-entry in Canada, Funds, Permanent resident status.

Regarding the landing, they tell us to allow a few hours before the connecting flight or other to our final destination, as the immigration procedures are done at our initial place of arrival in Canada.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say that we received our passport back last Monday and we are set to land next week! I'm beyond relieved (sending passports internationally via mail service is scary!) but everything came back super quickly and safely. We couldn't be happier to start our lives fully now. I hope this journey is quick for everyone else here waiting, it's been a great support system to have everyone here share their experiences, so thank you all for doing so. Don't lose hope and stay strong, it's hard to do but once the process is over - it's over! Wish you all the absolute best and sending good vibes to you all !!!

Congratulations everybody that already get the PR. But now we have the new steps in our life. We have the support of our spouse or husband and them family. In same cases, it is not enough. To find a job and make friends it is not easy! I am living in Canada for almost two years, and I am far away to get this thing. If somebody think in land in Niagaras Falls it is just working from Tuesday to Thursday. I went there today and I just spent money and time.

I am awaiting my husband's background check to change to In Process. His AOR2 was given July 17, 2017 (São Paulo Visa Office). From your experiences, how long did it take to get Background Check In Process and how did they notify you (or did you discover it on ECAS / GCKey)?

Im also waiting for them to start my husbands background check, it’s really frustrating. We’ve been waiting since May for them to start the background.
