Problem is, you have to be exposed to conflict before getting there. It's like saying, "Hey you should go -- it's just a short 90 day swim across the pacific ocean -- but it's totally worth it!"

They are in the Atlantic Ocean completely.
I understand. It's totally different from the news compared on what's happening on the ground there. It was sad what happened to that canadian last year in the island of mindanao (That's where the conflict is now).
I want to visit Mexico too -- but won't for the same reason. In the Philippines, South Africa, Mexico, etc, western travelers are frequently held for ransom, robbed, or worse. Those two were abducted with a Norwegian from a resort! So, I will wait until they get the ISIS out.
