Congrats!! DM in ECAS and an interview means landing!

After you and them go through the questions they want to ask (simple -- not a test), you sign, they sign, and you keep a copy of the paper. About 3 months later a Card comes in the mail that you can use to enter Canada with.

You have to update your health insurance (so they know you are a PR), and SIN (immediately -- this will be a permanent number for you)

I was in MPI last friday to update my Driver's license validity. The lady told me that they forward my document (COPR) to their identity department and if it's ok that's the time they will update my DL. They don't know about the COPR which is the same with landing paper. It's hard to deal with them.

They are coming next month but only for a week. They are still working back home. 61 years old.

That's what i"m thinking too. My dad had his angioplasty before and my mom had stage 1a cancer but all is been clear/cured, thank god.

Glad your Mom and Dad are doing better. Hopefully they can retire and come and visit for an extended time in future.

His talk about constitution is just for his reelection. You know, there are now 4 significant political parties in Quebec. The liberals have the power for 14 years now (with the exception of an 18 months minority government of Parti Québécois). The CAQ (a bit more on the right end) was continously 3rd in the polls. But in the last 6 months, they are very close to liberals, even leading in the French-speaking population. So the liberals want to reorient the debate around separation/federalism as they easily win against parti Québécois. Having some quietness about the federalism/separation bring the debate to left/right which currently favors the CAQ.

So, voter manipulation. I think the french law deal you guys have is fine, it largely is in line with Canadian federal law anyway. But, when you look at things like health care; I can go to NB or BC, and if I need emergency care, they will just bill OHIP for it. The same is not true WRT RAMQ and the other provinces (and vice versa). I think this is wrong. You deserve the same as I have. I know we look out for eachother. QC is still a Canadian Province. I really don't think there would be much of a chance to change that (despite people maybe wanting it).

So, having a separate immigration process, etc isn't really helpful. but just my opinion I guess..

Everything is backwards in Quebec! Of course they have their own LICO (LOL!)

It's the same process. Figure out how many in the family unit, and how much Gross earnings the sponsors have to go around. that's then assessed against the LICO.

Same -- my MIL also stated that she didn't want a SuperWisa, as she can't leave her workplace for that long -- they would forget who she was...

Hi everyone I just wanted to ask what happens after the interview I am guessing I have a landing interview as I have a DM reflecting and an email saying IRCC in my city will contact me for an interview to finalize their decision.

That's odd. My husband went to update his licence and they did not even ask for any proof of status documents.

DL isn't an issue. Health Cards and SIN is.

Did you use a representative? If yes you cannot link.
If not, put the minimum of information requested. I remember that for the city of birth, we just hit the space bar. I think we left all the section regarding passport info blank.

You know, yes our own immigration, our own revenu agency (which means having to file two separate income tax declarations....), our own foreign affairs ministry,... to me, it's just wasting money.

We actually have our own "Taxation" as well. But it's incorporated with the Canadian package from what I have seen. I just take my tax forms to an accountant who whips up my return for me, so I can't say for certain WRT new packages...

When does medical expire? The officer that called my husband to arrange the landing appointment did so because she realized the medical would expire and she said wanted him to avoid having to pay for another medical.

Also remind us when last you contacted your MP.

Expiring July 31 as indicated on the GCMS notes. Not much time left unfortunately.. Contacted our MP back on June 8th, they got back to us within just a few days, noting that security screening is done by 3rd party and they can't help in getting more information either..
