Hi guys,

I know this is the Ray of Hope thread but since this is the most visited thread in this forum I need to put this question here:

I got my IELTS results today after my 2nd attempt and I´m furious, the first time I took the test in May my results were L/R/W/S (7/8/8/8).

I took the test again in June trying to improve my Listening score and my new results are these: L/R/W/S (8.5/8/6.5/8). How can it be possible than they have marked my Writing as 6.5 when last month they gave me an 8?

This time I even wrote more words and had more time to spend in the Writing section.

I need a 7. Should I go for revaluation?
I think you should give for revaluation...your previous score is a testimony to ur writing skills and having done so well in other 3 sections,it is unlikely that you didn't do well at least for a 7...and you are so confident about it...
--
and it will take you to CLB9....there's sufficient ground for giving it for remarking without any delay...
--
Writing evaluation is subjective to an extent...if your confidence is well placed you'll get an increment as the present mark may be the result of ur answer being evaluated by a very conservative evaluator (a minor fraction of all evaluators might be such...so strict about all aspects... )

Thanks Lino. By the way, I wanted to thank you for the links you had provided me to improve my Listening score. As you see I got a better result than I needed in this section but unfortunately they gave me a low score in Writing.

But after reading the responses, I will definitely apply for a re-mark.

You would get ITA on 434 as well. As far as increase in the overall CSR - yes that might go higher but you still have a

Sorry forgot to add that's just my feeling. Not based on any kind of news
That's the problem, we don't really know what going to happen with th CSR, how going to be the tendency.... we will have to wait a couple draw to be sure, well as far i know OINPs are valid for 6 months

Me and my spouse are currently at 434 . If I retake IELTS by this month end again, there is a fair chance that my score can improve by 6 points (given that I do very well in IELTS) . Do you guys think it is worth re-taking IELTS now for those additional 6 points? I mean will these 6 points be the game-changer for me
I would recommend you to wait few draws and then decide. With the same number of ITAs and 2 week gap draws (on July 12 and July 26), you should be receiving your ITA within the next few draws.

If you already have CLB 9 in all, it is a gamble trying to get CLB 10 in all. Also there is a very high chance of you getting the ITA around the same time you have your IELTS exam scheduled.

You go girl. Hurray :) A month is good time to get nomination these days also given that you had to explain lot of unavailable previous documents. I can read your joy :) That's awesome. So now you have a ITA coming next week. What an incredible feeling it would be it would still not surpass the sheer excitement of nomination, would it? Many many congratulations to you my friend. I couldn't be more happier for you.

I too am in the catch 22 situation whether to go for IELTS or proceed with OINP. I had a chat with my brother-in-law and he is now highly suggesting, almost insisting i should accept OINP and forget about the IELTS. He is worried if i fail to score CLB 9 again OINP quota might get exhausted in couple of months. He had been insisting me to take IELTS for more than 3 months but after the March 4 horror, i was just too disappointed and also bullish that score will drop down to my level sometime in late July. I do not want to be going against him all the time as i respect him a lot and my behaviour might not have been received well of late by him. After all he worried for me not him. I too am worried with three failed attempts in IELTS in past the year and half. Properly confused! I apologize to have hijacked your moment of joy and pour my difficulties lol. Many many congratulations once again. I hope you will be around :)
Your brother is right, it is always good to grab the opportunity that you have than wait for the opportunity you might get in future.

My personal opinion about accepting NOI. Entirely up to you guys to take the decision.

Unless you are in a situation where you are unable to pay the 1500 CAD right now, go for OINP if you have a CRS below 413.

If you are reluctant to pay the 1500 CAD because it looks like a lot of money even though you can afford to pay right now, think about it, it is just the amount you would earn in 14-15 days (working 8 hours a day) doing a minimum wage job (paying 13-14 CAD per hour) in Ontario.

In any case, it totally depends on your risk appetite to make this decision.

I am on the same situation. My csq application is under processing of over 12 months. Now I have received NOI from Ontario with CRS 425!

should I go for OINP application?

Hey guy! my CSR is 434, but i'm kind of worry since i see a lot of people are receiving OINPs (i also have received one), this will increse pool CSR overall.... do i have any chance of receive a ITA?
You would receive ITA in the next few draws if it happens with a gap of 2 weeks and CIC issues 3400 ITAs.

Bill , can you do some predictions for me :)

When would i get an ITA / PNP ?

EE Profile - Submitted 6/14
CRS - 441
ITA - Waiting
IELTS W/R/S/L - 7.5,8,8,8.5
My prediction for you-
If the next draw happens before July 14th, you are getting the ITA!

I dont know,, only CIC would know this but i think it is very unlikely that it will go above 449
I bet it will because of more applicant from the new changes of Canadian siblings and French language!! that sucks!! I am sitting on CRS 425!

Hey guys, just a quick question, I have seen many people in this forum doing several impressive calculations for the possible CRS score in the future. I am curious to know if there's any chance for CRS 450 by the end of August 2017 based on the current analysis. As I will be completing my 2 years Canadian work experience at that time giving me additional 25 points. Currently on CRS 425. Any guesses?
By end of August, you might already have an ITA with CRS 425.

With CRS 425, I would not recommend to go for OINP without waiting for a few draws and seeing the trend.

As with the same number of ITAs (around 3400), 2 week gap draws would ensure the cut off reaches 425 by July end or August.

The increase in CRS cut off is largely due to people like you who enter the pool newly or increase their CRS score due to whatever reason. Hence, in 2 weeks, lot of profiles get added or have higher scores and those at lower CRS scores are left waiting for an ITA.
