Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Thank you sir. My wife and I have been running two small business for sometime now. I don't have any real estate under my belt yet I have liquid funds, a car registration certificate and perhaps insurance policies. Would that suffice??? I did mention in my SOP that my business will continue operations without me as I engage in my studies. I implicitly stated that I would be returning to the Philippines as the purpose of my studies is to enhance my skills in managing/improving/expanding businesses. Would it also be more advisable to apply first alone or must I apply with my family with me or should I apply with my wife and not with our kids??? My apologies for so many questions. The thought of it all is just overwhelming at times considering the money and effort needed

yup! the business will be a good home tie... just make sure to submit in your proof of funds the business registration docs and other related docs to prove that... also good na rin to show your car registration cert, bank statements, bank cert etc as well
(as for the family part, i'm not sure cuz i'm just a fresh grad hehe sorry)

thank you again po for your speedy response. I have no idea what I must write in the statement of purpose other than what I really intend to do which is to study in Canada though must I explicitly state that I shall be returning to my country of residence after my studies? I am certain that they are fully aware that many would like to utilize the student program as a springboard into permanent residency yet, which I am also very much aware of but must I outrightly tell them that I shall most certainly go back home? many thanks in advance and God bless you for answering this query

Rather than country of residence, I would suggest your state country of citizenship. This is specially useful if you are a residence of another country other than your citizenship.
Indeed they are fully aware that countless applicants are using this program as an opportunity to become a permanent residence. They are also aware that the government welcome this if the student are qualified enough. International student have Canadian education and will probably get a Canadian work experience. Compared to foreign applicants is it not much better to retain these students?
However, despite all of these factor, it is clearly stated in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulation that these student must have a temporary intent. Student must first show they have a temporary intent and a bonafide student.

Just an update, I finished my program already and graduated this June 2017. Parang kailan lang, grabe.
Luckily enough, I already found a job because of a partnership between Centennial and a top retailer. It is a NOC 0 (management) job, so magagamit ko siya for my PR - the only downside is that I have to move from Toronto to Calgary, pero kung saan me trabaho doon ako LOL, sana tuloy-tuloy na.
Kayod lang talaga - pag andito na kayo, there are many ways that you can become a permanent resident

21 March - received offer letter from Centennial

3 May - lodged application online
6 May - request for medical
10 May - done medical
18 May - passed medical
3 June - NBI request
8 June - uploaded NBI
10 June - passport request
13 June - passport submitted
15 June - passport pick up

same timeline for me and my boyfriend. he will take up Marketing management and i'll take project management in Centennial College. September 2017 intake. anyone who will study in Centennial also?

Good day sir! I hope and pray all went well for you and your family there. I would like to find out when your wife and child applied for their respective visas after your student visa was granted. I also would like to find out if you must state in your statement of purpose that you will go back to the Philippines once your studies have been completed. I was already accepted into a university in Manitoba and all our documents are ready. I am torn between applying along with my wife and three kids or if I should do what you did Thanks and God bless you and your family.

i'm almost done backreading the conversations here, (now on page 540) haha..madame po tlaga tayo matututunan dito, i was able to follow the story of our seniors here, one of them Sir Mic mic---as i know of his story, right after he got his visa, he applied immediately for his wife and child, like the day after tlaga un.

In my case, we applied together, husband and 1 child, and we all got approved.. i can really say na case to case basis po tlaga sya, marami pong factors cguro na tinitingnan si VO, so depende dn po tlaga mag rereview un. Good luck po.
