On this forum we have lots of users with SS starting in Feb/March and yet to receive PPR. So this is not a 1-3month process based on current timelines.
Also for applicants from Pakistan, SS seems to the longest for these users as compared to China again comparing historic timelines. I would speculate that it seems to take longer to get info from the local authorities in Pakistan.

There are different factors for each application, which I have discussed here https://goo.gl/7wQ5CT

An applicant for Pakistan could have longer security screening times due to the ongoing civil conflict around it. However, I would refrain from making a blanket statement that just because you see a specific note, it means 6-12 months processing.

@legalfalcon could you please confirm from your experience if "Security Screening" is a standard section or it appears only for those candidates who have been selected for additional security verification ?
I can clearly see that there is no mention of Activity under this section unlike other people

In my experience most applicant will have the sub activity which has "security screening." This has no connection with the delay in processing.

See the last few pages of your notes. Do you have no note with regard to R10?

Eligibility "met candidate" means that the eligibility is met as per the candidates documents, they are yet to be reviewed.

Sent an Email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa to know the visa office & the latest status of my PR application yesterday. Received reply today as below,

Dear Sir/Madam,
Please note that your application is currently at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia and has not yet been transferred to a local visa office.
Please submit any inquiries via our web form and your inquiry will be redirected to the correct office.

Surely some background checks take longer than others e.g. military/govt background, terrorism risk etc. No doubt if a more enhanced background check takes place then this will cause a delay in processing.

My own eligibility was completed in March 2017 and has been stuck in IP2 since.

Received my third GCMS notes today generated on 6/6/2017.
Eligibility: Recommend Passed
Security: Not started
The only new note on 12/4/2017 from Cairo office is that they received my status enquiry and reply was sent advising that file is under review. No notes about admissibility or security at all!
I had the part of Organizations and Entities in my previous notes generated on 29/3/2017 but I didn't find it in the recent notes. There is still s.16.(c) and big white space under Applications and cases part. Is there any significance regarding this change?
I sent them CSE after completing 6 months but I did't get any correspondence till now!!! I only hope they are working on security right now as I completed 7 months of waiting.

My I ask, when did you ordered your notes?
I want to know the gap between ordered date and generated date.

See page 1 of this thread for s16. Not to be concerned about, any applicants see s15 / s16 and retracted notes. Since your file is at LVO, soon you will see that the eligibility is changed to Passed from recommended passed and a new note to that effect. As soon as that happens the security will also change. IF you are from Egypt, there may be some concerns with regard to involvement in political organization, which they may be checking. Since your notes were generated on 6/6 I am sure there must have been some change after that.

See what your next notes say, would advise you to order them in the first week of july. Keep a tab on your application, that is all that you can do.

Hello, my GCMS note was generated on 05/18. When should I order a new one to get as much info as possible?
My background check has been IP 2 for 2 weeks. I phoned CIC and 2 agents told me the same things: that my application was almost finished, there was not any issue and that it was now in final decision so I can expect PPR soon.
Should I understand that means I passed security check and eligibility check? Or their words just mean something in general?
Knowing that GCMS takes 1 month to generate note, I hope that I will get PPR in some days, I don't expect it in 1 month. Do they have a fastpass service such as complement notes for the first GCMS, because I don't need the notes from the beginning of my application.
