Work Experience - Same Company, multiple promotions

Hello,

My friend has worked for a reputed IT services firm for the last 8 years. It was his first job and only job. He has had 3 promotions from Associate Software Engineer to Software Engineer to Senior Software Engineer (Software Engineering Analyst) to Team Leader - Application Development.

Will he need to mention all the designations he has held at his company? If yes, what proof of work experience will he need to provide? From what I understand, its not possible to get roles and responsibilities for the first two designations which he held between 2009-2012. He has work experience letter for his current level and the previous level. He also has appointment letter from 2009.

It depends of which job skill he wants to claim from and the number of years he has held that position.

The reference letter can be the same one if it lists the job titles he wants to claim points for. Just upload it for both job titles as each one will need the same thing - the company reference letter

Thanks for the response. He is claiming under the NOC "2171 - Information systems analysts and consultants" which is pretty vague. All of his designations would fall under that except Team LEader which is more managerial.

The company is not very happy about giving out reference letters. He has one for Team Lead which he got hold of with a bit of difficulty and one for Senior Software Engineer (Software Engineering Analyst). There is no one single letter which lists all his designations.

What can be the best course of action?

Yes this is a tough one...Did he go through the HR department or the direct manager? If it was the former, he could approach the direct manager for help

Hi,

The HR dept. gives a very generic letter which states the current designation and dates since he was in the current designation. The direct manager gave him the current work experience letter, after a lot of badgering on his part. But, his issue is letters for the first 2 positions he held about 5 years ago. He has his promotion letters and joining letter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi please help me with the below concern,

Applying for Express Entry under CEC:

In my primary occupation, I got promoted so I had two titles in that job under the same NOC. The HR did not create two different sections on the experience letter. However, I did ask HR to include at the top that I was hired at position X at XX salary and then promoted to position Y at YY salary effective from ZZ date.

However, the number of hours worked, type of employment(Full time), Benefits and roles and responsibilities have been mentioned only once in the letter. Is that okay or should I have got the letter to repeat the roles and responsibilities and all other information twice for the two titles?

Any help would be much appreciated!
