Having lived in Ireland for 7.5 years i can assure you, Jameson is not where near to Scotch. Although it sure depends on taste, but for me, scotch vs jameson, scotch wins hands down lol. But not all the brands are as good, for instance, teacher's is avg, but the best among affordable is the Jonnie Walker's double black. We will have to make the meet up happen from here. That will be exciting. It just can't be only a pleasant nostalgia.
I completely agree with you...
I've had opportunity to try out all except blue label ..and some other scotch too...all in the affordable range around 12yr matured...I like Green label and liked double black and even black too...
Jameson's felt milder....anyway I'm not much of a regular...not that I don't want...;)...kept aside my tastes for times when I have the right company....:p..and place ...
I too like scotch....a lot more than brandies....& Jameson's was an affordable experiment & I liked it...another favorite I Maker's Mark from US bourbon...:p...
--
and all the white rum too.. Bacardi & Smirnoff vodka...I like them all:)...
we should set up a pub someplace and every evening throw ourselves a nice party...all of the ROH 66 alumni....:D

I wonder why you left Ireland. I find it so breath-taking, as portrayed in the movie Barry Lyndon. Anyway, I feel nothing beats Millet wine, and Rice liquor (local Nepali drinks, known locally as Tongba and Bhaatee Jaad). A few bottles of beer does me fine, keeps me sober and ready for action later :D.

Looking into these factors CIC decided to give extra points and relaxing some of its regulations.

Taking this into account in order to meet their targets either they will have to increase ITA's or relax rules for those already in Canada. In both cases I don't feel CRS can go up for a long period. Therefore, we can expect back to back draws in upcoming months and pushing scores down. The mean calculated by immigration specialists suggests the threshold score to be 384, and CRS may come down to this level by the end of this year.

...

Good Luck to all!
From anyone but you, Bill, I would completely discount the possibility of 384 by the end of the year. Between the 14,000 people over 380 and the rate of new entrants over 380, I thought it would take at least a year.

However, if they really are short 30,000, it could happen. As someone sitting at 384, the ride just got more exciting! Still working on french and planning on Queen's University in January all the same. Better safe than sorry.

And you'll also have the option of OINP for Masters Students as well as canadian study :) It would make a world of difference to your points :)

my dear friend it is taste....
I talked about Jameson's as a favorite of mine which is far cheaper than the Hennessy I've been lucky to taste ...or the Green lable or the Chivas or Remi Martin...
Double black felt good going down....:)..
credit goes to marketing too....the way it is presented gives u an enhanced experience....even the appearance of the bottle matters....
Quality spirits are enjoyed with 3 of the five senses...and double black may be lower than Black in vintage..and I too have read many review putting black several notch above double black... but it doesn't mean that someone won't find it better to Black...;)...
depends on the individuals taste...:p

By the way, our drink contains sort of venom as one of the key ingredients which is potentially fatal. This key ingredient is called Aconite and it beats any Johnny and all Walkers to dust :D.

The only downside is that I will graduate in Oct 2018. For the youngsters here, it's no big deal. But as perhaps the oldest poster on this forum, I worry that Canada will stop accepting older people.
