Pleasant day all, I have a matter and I am seeking some guidance. I will try to keep this as simple and straight as much as I can. I am a young man living in a third world country.

I have been denied both US and Canadian Visas multiply times.
3 times for US and 2 times for Canada. I last tried US in 2014 and Canada twice in 2015.

I was working in the Customer Care field for 7 years and was not able to secure a visa or travel. I changed my job in 2016 and within a year 2017, I reapply to US and got my 10 years visitor VISA approved and issued.

Canada denied me at the time because of my job status, funds, travel history and ties the last time I had applied. Now my job has changed significantly. Working with the Government now and making a lot more money and it is also a strong ties to my country. I guess that is why I was able to get the US visa. The point I am getting at is I would like to reapply for the Canadian Visa very soon however I am wondering if I should:

1. Travel to the US first for travel histroy before I reapply....if I do, I cannot spend more than 7 days at this point because of my job.
2. As for the funds, I can deposit about 4k CAD in my Canadian account leading up to the time I reapply.
3. Wondering also if I should purchase a motor vehicle to show asset. I do not have any land or house title. This might not be an issue but still checking for your thoughts and opinion on the matter.

ALL SUGGESTIONS AND INPUT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thank you all in advance.

Hi,

Were you refused for TRVs or another visa category earlier? What were the refusal reasons?

It would be easier to advise if you post the list of documents you intend to submit + purpose and duration of your visit to Canada + any previous travel history (the UK/Schengen/Australia/Japan, etc).

1. Travel to the US first for travel histroy before I reapply....if I do, I cannot spend more than 7 days at this point because of my job.
With your refusal history, it would make visa sense if you actually travel to the US first and then apply for a Canada TRV after some months..... or schedule a US visit - with confirmed bookings - after your intended Canada visit.

If you are unable to take time off work for more than 7 days then it would be difficult to convince the visa officer that you will spend a significant amount of money/savings just to travel and visit Canada for a week.

You may also want to plan a visit around national/statutory holidays in your country or at times when work slows down. This way you can prove you have more days available to visit.

2. As for the funds, I can deposit about 4k CAD in my Canadian account leading up to the time I reapply.
Only if you can prove that this CAD 4,000 was earned by you. If it was borrowed from someone then don't.

Also, you'll need to work out a detailed day-by-day plan of what you intend to do when you visit with expense estimates. This will confirm whether or not the CAD 4,000 is sufficient to pay for your airfare + planned itinerary + a bit to spare.

3. Wondering also if I should purchase a motor vehicle to show asset. I do not have any land or house title.
Do you need a motor vehicle? If you're purchasing one just for a Canada TRV then it may not be a wise decision. There are other ways to prove you have strong ties even if you don't own land/property/vehicles.

Also, if you purchase a motor vehicle (whether or not an outright purchase), your available funds for your Canada TRV will reduce.

My suggestions:
1. Do order GCMS notes for the previous refusals before your reapply

2. Do post the list of documents you intend to submit + purpose of your visit etc etc

3. Do you have a Canadian host? Relatives or family in Canada?

4. Previous travel history?

5. What other ties can you prove: A lease agreement, dependent family members, enrollment to a part-time study program, volunteering in a charity organization, etc. Any of these?

Cheers

Hi Bryanna,

Thank you very much for you suggestions they are greatly appreciated. As for the questions you asked:

"Were you refused for TRVs or another visa category earlier? What were the refusal reasons?"
Ans: Yes, I was refused a TRV twice in 2015. I do not have the papers with me now. However, they said the reasons were;

First Application in May 2015
* Purpose of travel
* Proof of funds
* Job and family ties to home country
* Travel History

Second Application in November 2015
* Proof of funds
* Job and family ties to home country
* Travel History

Yes, I do have a host in Canada who sent me an invitation letter on both occasions. An itinerary was done with a list of places I would visit in Canada on the second application.

My current job allows me to make much more money now than before so I am able to save up the amount and deposit it in the CAD account.

I have never traveled before so travelling for 7 days will only be done in the US and the reason is just to obtain the travel history. Visiting Canada would be more like 2-3 weeks in 2018 then return home.

As for the purchase of the car yes it is for my personal use on a daily basis not for the sole purpose of the visa application.

Documents I intend to submit on next application are:
*Passport with US visa and travel history
*Job Letter
*Pay Advisories
*Invitation letter
*Itinerary for the duration of visit in Canada.
*Proof of funds
*Vehicle Title
*Proof of dependent family member.

What is "GCMS notes"? What information us on it and how do I go about ordering one?

Hi did you apply to the Canadian high Commission yet? A motor vehicle doesn't show much asset as they wouldn't want to see that title. If you have a house title then that would be good. If, not, money normally works, make sure you have enough cash in your account. Also, make sure the cash wasn't just added abruptly. Maybe I should have used another word but make sure your account is not 10 dollars today and tomorrow 400,000 is added then you go to the embassy with that. That would raised red flags. Most banks statements, normally show the last three transactions so they will see the history of your account. I would recommend travelling to the US even for a week before applying, there is no guarantee but it would help
