Let share Preparations/Timelines for 2015 Live In Caregiver PR/OWP Applications

Hi Lisaar,

Did you mean they received your application indicated on the cic website or just the courier? Because I submitted using the old pathway like you, actually my 3rd attempt last May 17, 2017 received in Vegreville thru fedex courier, no email or anything. I'll tell you one thing though, my 2nd application attempt was submitted last April 6, 2017 and I saw the application appeared briefly on ECAS (online status) and then disappeared after that I received my whole application for PR and I immediately re-submitted last May 17, 2017. Up to now I haven't received any email and there is no status showing up on ECAS.

Hi Guys,

I was able to contact IRCC today, I learned that they have only checked application for PR submitted last April 27, 2017.

So, that means that they are working on applications submitted in April 27th ??
I guess we have to keep waiting then.

Hi guys, does the case processing centre in Vegreville Alberta return open work permits when they return pr application that is incomplete? Because the first time that I have submitted the pr with the open work permit application was last march 2017, and the application for pr was returned without the open work permit application, and again when I resubmitted my pr application only last April that was returned to me again last May without any open permit application.

May I ask why your application has been returned twice??

Is the open work permit application in process??

Hello Lanina and Lisaar,

My application was returned twice because my consultant made a mistake with both applications costing me precious processing time lol. As for the open work permit I asked why it was not returned to me the first time that the PR app was returned and the call centre agent said that it is still in the CPC waiting for the corrected PR app and will be processed as soon as they get the correct PR app, but she said it might still take maybe a month or two before I get it if everything goes right. Anyway I also asked them if 4 weeks is the standard turn around time for opening and encoding the submitted application on their system and the call centre agent said that it depends on the workload for that current week, I think that is also the case because my first application only took 2 weeks for them to check before it was returned to me and the second at was at least 4 weeks before it was returned to me.

Its rough in our sector Im not going to pretend. But I try to open the Word of God and speak some positive words over my life!!!

Eveything you feel...the mess ups and the waiting....

But it the time we are waiting let us start getting other areas of our lives in order for our families: home; finance: spiritual lives......stay strong because the challenges can take a toll on our health so excersize and eat well.

1. Recieved on April 3rd, 2017
2. Start Processing on April 27th, 2017

There is a quote on page 79 of the thread. Someone called CIC and they are work on Application receieved April 27th 2017. Must be increase work load???

Just thought I would share my experience. You can check my timeline for background on when I applied.
June 2016 my daughter came as a visitor ( after not seeing her for 1.5 yrs). She came twice while I was a living in caregiver. This final time the immigration officer asked her why I don't let her stay and wrote a note and gave to her telling me I should apply for a visitor record for her. So she can go to school here in Canada while we go through pr processing. January 2017 my husband who visits twice every years as I had a baby while working as a live in care giver came in as a visitor and was asked by officer if there was a reason I didn't apply for him to get an open work permit. In both cases i took that and applied for both. My daughter got her visitor record September 2016 and my husband got owp feb 2017. Both expires with my pep. But our file was transferred from Trinidad visa office back to vegregile. They called to ask to send more info and in weeks we got medical request. The officers said he is finalizing our application so please compile within 48 hours.
I misses my family and if you have young kids this may be the best way for you to start living with them here in Canada.

Hi Dear. Thank you for sharing. My two children are back in the Caribbean too. Should i apply for a visitors visa for my children first? What is this visitors record? Sometimes when you dont know the information we suffer immensely!!

Its a feeling i dont wish on my worse enemy. To work so hard and then after we complete the time they tell you 4years more not even dogs they would separate from their owners so carelessly!!

Visitor record is basically an extension on your visitor visa. But it allow minor children to enroll in school while their parents work here in Canada. Pm me I'll explain what they ask for to extend. And out Caribbean visa office is very very slow. They took their precious time. So I'm glad they had to process in Canada since both my dependent are in Canada
