agreed. I would've been eligible January 2016 under the old rules. I'd be a citizen by now. Then the liberals took over a year to repel that crap, and now I will probably apply sometime this fall, while under the current rules, I could apply January 2018. So I will gain 2-3 months and the opportunity to have my application be part of a massive influx of applications, whereas if they had either:
- never implemented the conservative rules that messed with us, or
- passed this bill in way less than time than over a year
my application would've been a routine one and probably been processed within the regular processing times. I can't see them holding the ~12 months once the floodgates are opened. I wish they had established, or they still establish some sort of fast-track or the like for people like me, who have been here for ages continuously (14 years), or if you studied here, or if you have had a job in your field of study for x years, or something. anyhow...
