I would suggest u to apply for PCC at SSP Office. Its much easier and is valid for residents of Punjab

This I cannot use as i have stayed outside my current district also.
SSP office pcc is valid only if you stay in the current address from last ten years..
other wise you need to collect PCC from all the places of your stay in India and punjab

Thats why i went for PSK PCC.

Good luck, I feel this must be some misunderstanding/mis-communication. I hope things resolve quickly for you at RPO. :)

Thanks..

Today I got the PCC from RPO.

The reason police report was not clear is because I have spent less than an year in the current address.

You need to get Police verification done for older address also or if the address is of foreign country like in my case, you need to show the entry stamp on the passport and PCC from that country.

I showed the both and attached to the file at RPO.

Got it within an hour.

Regards,

I took PCC from SSP office .....they gave me PCC in 7 days from the date I applied.

If you have stayed in current address from last 10 years then it is fine.. otherwise you need to get it from all the place's SSP.
or go for PSK PCC.

Awesome! These days they don't stamp the PCC I believe. Only give you the document. Correct?

Yup.... I have stayed my whole life in Punjab ....education and work also here ......I think I would be fine

But many people work outside the state like for most of the IT experts work in Pune or Bangalore ....PSK is good route

Is that ok as such ?? please reply

Not last 10 years but since you turned 18 years old. Many people get confused with this. PCC is required since your 18th Birthday.

BTW glad to hear that you got your PCC without any issues.

Good luck!

hi,
I have a PSK appointment tomorrow. have stayed in my present address since 2013 but was abroad for a year, returned last month. I have mentioned that I am staying at current address since last month. will I have an issue in obtaining the Indian PCC?

If address is same as your address on passport. You may be granted pcc without police verification.
If no, then for sure police verification will be initiated. and a long wait starts for 10-15 days.

Plus , since last few months , SSP office has stoped writing duration of stay of a person at his current address ....previously they used to mention the length of stay
