No guys, this is incorrect. You can only get the ECA reference number once the assessment is complete. So you can't create an EE profile before this is done.

You need to be very patient during this process.

Hi TanakaM,

We get WES Reference number as soon as we make the profile . Then they evaluate the degree .So ,its possible.

Hi Rajkamalmohanraj,
Do you know along with WES Reference Number we have to fill the Date when the evaluation has been done by WES ,in express entry profile. So can I enter any random date for now in the profile and later on change it after accepting ITA.
Please suggest. Would be waiting for your kind reply.
Thanks:)

@TanakaM, I also only got my Masters Degree evaluated, are you saying I should only fill the Masters degree in the educational history and fill my Bachelor's degree in personal history, then only include my Master's degree certificate in my application, along with ECA and Ielts.

1) You can explain this in your LOE and attach a copy of old passport, otherwise when listing ID's they only want valid documents.
2) No it wont. There is a section where you must list your close family members in the PR application. They dont care about other relatives.

Regards

Thanks for your advice!

During express entry profile, I mentioned that I have relatives in Canada who are permanent residents, now during my PR application, I will deny having any. It won't be wrong this way?

Hi,

I know that you get it the same day, I have had my credentials assessed. However, the reference number you get is for communication purposes not for you to use for any immigration processes.

Please refer to my post below:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/express-entry-in-a-nutshell.394158/page-356#post-6084467

At the end of the day it is your application so you can do what you want, but for everyone who is reading this, know that it is cheating and may easily lead to rejections because you are entering the pool based on false information.

That's my take.

regards

Hi,

This is okay as long as this doesnt make you ineligible. 5 points will be removed from you six factor score: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp so you need to make sure you remain above 67 points.

You will also need to explain why you have made this change in your LOE. It can simply be that you are unable to put together the required documents.

All the best

Hi,

Yes, IMO, this is the best way of doing it. The fact that you Bachelors has no ECA makes it irrelevant for the purposes of your application. Therefore, just like work experience you are not claiming points for, it must go to personal history alone.

You will get the WES reference number before the assessment is completed. As matter of fact, that is the number which we can use to inquire for an update from WES, or for any other communication.

So yes, you do get the reference number even before your transcripts are assessed.

And, this number is more than enough for you to create your EE Profile.

But this is a risky proposition, because if you do not get your transcripts assessed from WES before your deadline of ITA submission date; you will not be able to proceed further.
OMG guys - You need to be very very careful when you are answering someones questions... Any inadvertent wrong info could cost someone very dearly.

The WES reference number created is ONLY a reference number, you can use this to track information on WES's website. This is NOT the ECA report number, which is only generated when you actually get the report. That is the ONLY number IRCC cares about... If you mention the WES's tracking number (which in layman's terms is like a FedEx tracking number) then you are landing yourself in trouble.

OK so this is what you need to do - You need to WAIT for the report to come, only then create the profile. I will tell you why

lets say for example I put xyz number as WES, and I get ITA based on that... after you get ITA, in all probability you cannot go back and change the information you entered. Lets say for example that you can - I have seen GCMS reports where they mention what details were changed or corrected post ITA, clear as day.
Lets also assume that you are having a lovely day and IRCC didnt even notice that... and you proceed with the application when you get WES report say 5 days after you get ITA.
IRCC will check that you got ITA on lets assume 1st Jan 2017, then they will see that the WES report was generated on 5th Jan, 2017 ?? Automatically you will be rejected, and probably barred for misinterpretation.

BTW FYI, i tried using random string of numbers and letters back in 2015 for WES when i created by EE profile, within 30 mins my profile was deemed ineligible for this very reason... i couldnt understand why back then, but later i realised it was becoz of this only.

Rest I leave upto you how you want to go about things :)

Good luck

Either way, its always safe and smart to entry the pool, once you have your ECA and Language Test(s) reports readily available.
The number you are referring to is a provisional number that can only be used for communication. It only becomes official for immigration once the ECA is done. What would you put under "Date ECA report issued" ? (misrepresentation) - Nope. It is not any provisional number. Its the exact same reference number at the time of getting the report also. I m speaking from my experience. I did two evaluations, one for my spouse and the other for myself from WES, the numbers do not change.

Was there a column to fill in Date ECA report is issued? If there is. Then i m sorry. Probably its the best idea to await till you get the ECA (which i would always vouch for)

Another thing is that you dont know what your qualification is equivalent to until the ECA is done, so you risk overstating your qualification. (misrepresentation) - Yes. That is the risk proposition that i was referring to.

are you kidding me ?? WES reference number and ECA report numbers are completely and utterly different.

WES reference number is a 7 or 8 digit numerical number, ECA report number is an Alpha numeric 10-12 digit code...

i hope for your sake you better added the correct number on the EE profile :)

Hello Seniors

I am filling out my Express Entry profile and have the following queries. It will be great if anyone can guide.

1) ECA - Got it done through IQAS for my undergraduate - Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) which is a 3 year degree. ECA certificate states my degree as 'Bachelor of Business Administration - Four Year Undergraduate Program'. On my inquiry, they said that countries have different criteria for BBA Honours degrees which they can't validate hence they have classified it as a 4 year program and not mentioned the word 'Honours'.

On filling the EE profile, which degree name should I mention, the one on my degree or that stated on the ECA certificate? Since I have also got my MBA validated by IQAS, is there a need to mention my undergraduate degree in the relevant section for EE profile?

2) Work Experience - I have worked for 3 different organizations during the last 10 years. However, it might be an issue to get JD documents from my 2nd employer. I have worked with this employer for 1.5 years. However, my stay with my first employer was for 8 years and I started my new job 3 months back. Should I mention the 2nd employer details?

3) Work History for Secondary Applicant - My wife is a banker. She is a Product Manager for Credit Cards. Can anyone assist in identifying the NOC? I am not sure if the NOC code 0122 would work. Please guide.

Hi,

1) Just enter the name as per degree certificate and enter the number of year you did it in. This wont be an issue. It ok to enter both your degrees since they have both been assessed.
2) In employment history just enter your 1st employer, 8 years is enough experience. Then enter 2 and 3 in personal history (post ITA), no evidence will be required in this section.
3) If your wife does not have Canadian experience there is no need for this as you wont get any points. So just say she doesnt have any experience. You can the enter all her experience in personal history (post-ITA).

In response to point 1 above, are you saying he should enter both qualifications because they have all been assesed? What about if only the MBA was assesed? Will it be appropriate to enter the bachelors degree as well for record purposes in the EE knowing that he will only get the maximum points with the masters degree. Thanks
