I heard back from the secretary of an MP yesterday (Tuesday, June 6) that C6 is very likely to be discussed in the HOC on Thursday. However, they cannot comment on if it will become law or when it may receive Royal Assent. This reply seems reasonable to me...

Yeah... I hope so ... because it is not in the POB yet

I reached to that conclusion after long time of watching & following C-6 stages since Feb-2016. Now I don't really care if it got adopted or not. I will qualify on October to apply for the citizenship under current C-24

I guess it's that time of the day where I say my favourite sentence
Government bills never show up on the POB until the previous sitting is finished. There will be no government bills showing up fur Thursday until 12:30 am tonight.
The only bills which are projected further ahead than just one single day are non-government bills. If you wonder how you can tell them apart: Government bills have numbers between 1 and 199, non-government bills have numbers 200 and up.

It has been dragging on for almost 2 years now, another 2 years wouldn't be a surprise at this point

I am quite surprised by the stupidity of some of the people in this group,
1. Some are thinking c-6 will be a law one year after RA . --- Who told you that? because of c-24? C-24 had negative affect to some people , that was reason it was delayed 1 year to become law. Some had application ready to be sent one day after RA was done. C-6 will have no negative impact like that.
2. Another group acting like a victim for the delay and crying out loud. Just chill out and blame your parents first. People who born here, their parents or GP did the hard work for a straight forward citizenship for their children or grandchildren. Your parents failed to do that. Blame them first then others.
3.And last but the least, some people(those barking the most against c-6) became citizen before they c-24 came. In fact they took all the advantages they could by previous law, now in favor of c-24. LOL. I wonder how they even sleep at night. Karma attack is obvious. Some might face it by themselves or their kids, parents, relatives will take the hit because of them. If you are already a citizen, then why the hell are you even spending time in this forum? Spend that time with your kids, family or do something good for your beloved Canada.

I was just giving my opinion and I was ALSO asking a question if anyone knew of how long other bills take before coming into force (if it's always one year or not).
I was just TALKING and trying to figure things out from [what's now become] a negative standpoint.
There was no reason to call me and others who think like me "stupid" for this...
I hope I'm wrong and if anyone has information about how long other bills take to come into force, again, I'd welcome that information.

Who gave you the right to assess others. Everyone has the right to say whatever they want. When you say 4/6 took one year to come into force because conservatives care about immigrants, that is false. I did not read the rest of your post because I can tell your level of thinking from point 1.
