Time given to leave Canada after loss of status

Hello,
my work permit expired a few days ago, and I have not yet received the response from my application for the extension: I am actually in Implied Status, I guess.
I want to leave the country if my extension were to be rejected, but the cost of the ticket is extremely high, if I don't purchase it at least 2/3 weeks before.
Can anyone tell me how much time I am given to leave the country, before it is signed as an illegal status?
Also, I would like to visit some friends in another city within Canada, before leaving. Is it possible to travel around the country with an expired document?

As far as travel domestically is concerned you just need a valid ID, the work permit status is irrelevant for domestic travel, only becomes an issue if you leave the country and of course have to face immigration.

You should leave within 30 days if you want to avoid having issues returning in the future.

If your application is refused, your status in Canada will be illegal immediately.

My application was surprisingly refused yesterday, so this information is actually very useful.
I would be happy to leave within 29 days, but I would like to know if this is considered (signed) as "overstay", or how much time in Canada after the loss of "implied status" is considered "overstay". Can you give me some detail / link?
I expect the system to be fair, and give some time to gather things and prepare for the travel (if the "overstay" is immediate after a rejection of extension application, there should be more information about such relevant risc along with the information about extension request, and I would have never applied to avoid accidents); can you give me more info/link please?

By "overstay", I refer to the possibily of me being signed internationally as propense to violate visa rules: although for future possible applications in Canada I may be given space to explain that I requested and expected an extension, I fear it may give problems in other countries. Am I understanding it incorrectly, or there is any potential issue?

As soon as your extension was refused, you lost your status in Canada. This loss of status in Canada is immediate. There's no buffer or grace period in that regard.

Hi! What if you want to do a restoration of status? I read that you have 90 days after you letter was refused to apply? Also this could be possible even if In the letter they asked me to leave the country immediately?
