How does spousal support work? Because we have been living in his parents house and he didn't really work, maybe 10 hours a month or so.
Also back when he saw that i'm not willing to be an object or a servant he wanted me to sign an agreement that should we split up in the future I waive my rights to spousal support or childcare (we don't have kids though), by singing this agreement i don't think i can ask for any of that.

However, the Agreement doesn't abolish Sponsorship obligations. Besides, the Agreement might have been complied wrong and lawyer can waive it through court.

In the last 2 years i managed to do high school courses all over again and then put myself in a university where so far my GPA is A+ while he would sit around do nothing and tell me software engineering isn't for women. By getting all A+ after my first semester i told him don't tell me what i can't do. That's when the real trouble between us started.

You know what then i will go on welfare until the end of the period where he is financially responsible, because that paper i signed is an agreement written and witnessed by a lawyer so i don't think i can get anything from him. This will be a good way to get something out of him if you say there is no chance tax payers will pay for it.

if I was in your shoes I would get revenge like that he's not worth it and make him pay dearly than divorce him and you go on and be something big

Veronica90: don't be afraid. It shows that you have integrity when you don't want to rely on welfare unless you absolutely don't have another option. But if you really don't have another option - go for it.

Amen because she's in university and she's needs the help her ex husband that pos made her sign something in front of lawyer that she cannot get spousal support but going on assistance for a year is better

She will in fact need her COPR when she is ready to file for citizenship and/or retirement when she is at that age. She can, however, get a copy of it by requesting it from CIC. I would suggest she try and get the original back though, just because it is hers and he had no right to take it in the first place. A police escort would do sufficiently in this case for her to retrieve anything she has left behind.

All you need to do, Veronica, is show up at the local police station, state that you and your spouse have recently split, and that you have left some of your belongings behind and would like to get them. State anything you have left there and include your COPR. When you arrive at his home, the officer will escort you inside to retrieve those items that are yours and will demand your husband return your COPR to your possession. He will have no hold on you and you can be safe while getting those things that are yours.

Nope. Once youre landed he is liable for the 3 year sponsorship. The only thing he could have done is contact cic before your landing interview but its too late now

But i mean if he gets this annulment thing it means that the marriage never existed which is what the immigration process was based on. Don't annulment affect the immigration status? he said it does

You can also sponsor your common law partner... you cant annul common law you just break up. He sponsored you as his wife... if.he gets an annulment that doesnt turn back time the sponsorship is already in place. Hes just trying to scare you. Im also pretty doubtful he could get an annulment without you agreeing
