Inland Family Class Sponsorship and Open Work Permit, Implied Status - Sent or Received?

My wife applied in May 2017 for Inland Family Class Sponsorship and for an Open Work Permit in the same application. This application was sent back at the beginning of April and we resubmitted two weeks later. It has now been a month and I have yet to receive an e-mail confirming that my application has been received and is complete (pretty confident it is this time). My wife's temporary residence visa ends on July 12, 2017. I am wondering if, given that I have SENT my application for the PR and OWP if she benefits from implied status and i do not need to also apply for an extension of her TRV 30 days before it expires. To benefit from implied status must the application be RECEIVED and I be notified of this first? What happens if the application is not complete again and is returned, will she be considered out of status?

Basically, I want to know if I am good and can just wait until I hear about the applications I have already submitted or if I should play if safe and also submit an extension for her visitor's status. My understanding is that since I applied for PR and an extension of her status already, I am good. But have not officially been notified that my application was received and is complete, which worries me.

I have the same situation but mine will expire on sept. they said you still have to apply for extension of her visitor visa. if not she will not have a legal status here in Canada.

Does this apply for me too then?

I submitted my application on April 10th 2017 and have already received AOR on May 5th 2017 I submitted a OWP Application with my Sponsorship Application.

I am currently in Canada on a International Experience Canada Open Work Permit which expires on July 31st 2017. Do I also need to apply for a visitor visa??

Thanks!!

If you applied inland with an OWP, you do NOT need to apply to extend your status separately. You will have Implied Status after your current status expires.

People on here are informing me to apply for a visitor visa just to be safe, is this necessary?

Thanks all, seems like my initial interpretation was right. The only thing that might make me apply to extend anyway is that the OWP is not approved until you get past the first level of approval for the PR, which can be like 6 months. In that case, I might extend the tourist visa just to have the freedom to not be on implied status for as long. We have already had an emergency where she had to go home ASAP before and if she is on implied status this would not be possible. But the time difference in processing might be a wash, so might not be worth it.

The OWP is issued around the 4 month mark, not after first stage approval.

Implied Status is not any less valid than visitor status. Leaving Canada while on Implied Status is no different than leaving while on visitor status
