India PRTD Docs and Processing Time

Hi

My wife is currently in India and had to leave Canada after a week due to death of a family member.
She needs to come back to Canada and our PR cards will come late. What docs she needs to apply with to get PR Travel document,How long do they take to process in India.She does not have much history in Canada as she left within a week of arrival.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Am planning to be in Canada for a week and return after 6 months. Though I would be making arrangements for getting the PR, just in case I have some issues with it was looking into other ways of returning to Canada.
Do we need to write any thing specific in PRTD application form citing reasons for not having the PR card.

No. Just COPR copy is sufficient to get PRTD for new PRs. You need to provide Canada address while landing for PR card delivery.

Have you applied it in India,VFS said to me they take 25 working days for PRTD,Has anyone from India got it in like a week.

Last year someone from this forum got it in one week time. Anyway check with VFS.

Applied in July from India and got it in 2 weeks, 13th I applied and got mail on 27th to collect the passport.

Thanks for the information. What was the validity of the PRTD? Did you specify any particular return date or airline ticket info in your PRTD application?

6 months validity. Return date specified in the form was tentative one, no airlines ticket attached or info entered in form.
