Quick question about submiting an application by mail

Hello my wife and I submitted our outbound Sponsorship application by mail a little over a month ago. I understand where to find processing times and such but I'm not entirely sure what to expect directly next after submitting. Are we supposed to receive some sort of notice that the application has been received? because we haven't received anything yet. Does it generally take long to submit by mail?

Sorry if this has been said before, I did some searching around the forum and couldn't find anything answering this specific question.

I am a US Citizen and my wife is Canadian btw if that matters.

You should get AOR on your mycic which is their acknowledgement but dont panic it takes a few weeks for many. Did you send it recorded so you can check when it arrived?
 
if you didnt include the text option or courier tracking then no, there will be no notification of when they receive it.

the only way to know in that case would be if you receive the AOR

We did not send it recorded and I can't seem to link my application to MyCIC using the information I have. Name Birthday and passport number.

How will I receive an AOR? Someone else said it would be on MyCIC but its not linked in any way to my account

If you provided an email address on your application they will eamil you your UCI if not they will mail to you... with linking instructions

Okay thank you, we did include an email address. We where expecting something like that but started getting worried because its been over a month. I guess that's a reasonable wait time?"

Personally if i havent had any correspondance in 2 months id call cic to ask
 
You should always have some tracking number when sending those stuff to cic. Because right now you have no idea if it arrived or not. You should try calling them if it doesn't come soon. Mail get lost so easily.

Sent mine in March.....2 weeks later they emailed me to say they received it. Time can vary anywhere 2 weeks to one month. Also if they did receive it and it was incomplete they would return it to you unprocessed and it will not be in they system so that means they will not let you know if it was received or not.

Try calling them sooner than later.
