Me too, asking for status update.
I'm going to Newfoundland.
Ok, I just got an update from CIC Singapore (I personally feel that it is the worst system in the world as a G8 nation. Their timeline is long, confusing and frustrating. I really hope they improve. US study visa only take 5 days. Not sure why is to hard for Canada to make a decision. On the flip side, they have the best education system, more importantly my kids will be exposed to a great environment. So it is good to wait. sigh)

The email they responded informs that my application is currently pending initial review. As my course is in Winter 2018, my application will be on hold and reviewed again in Fall 2017. They will process all my applications (kids and hubby) together.

Not sure if it means that I will be rejected or approved but this delay is quite frustrating.

I see, so your admission is Winter 2018. May you share how did they contact you? email to your email address or through your CIC account?

So it is not weird because your admission is for winter and there is quite long time remain. Dont be worry about your visa. You will get that on time.

I am just wondering that if the initial review is pending for your case so why they asked you to do your medical?

Rite now they are processing fall 2017 applications... i dont think they give priority to your application at this time...they issue visa maximum 4 months before your program starts ......i know its hard to wait but you don’t have any other option. ...
Good luck :)

Hi Raghuk, I had the option to complete an upfront medical exam. So I did it for me and my family to save time. I think it depends on the citizenship. Some nationalities are allowed to complete upfront medical and some are requested. Anyhow, I also dropped them a note requesting them to expedite if possible as my husband has to provide 3 months notice period to his company and we are trying to avoid traveling in Dec/Jan due to the fact that we are from a tropical climate and our kids have never been in a cold climate. What do you think are our chances?
